My Burnley mate (STH) hasn’t had much positive to say about him, or any of his ticket holding mates that he’s sent me screenshots from.
I will caveat this with him saying when we bought Muric that we’d got a good deal and he was great with his feet and we know how that ended up but quotes from his Burnley Watsapp group…

Given the wide ranging views, it sounds like he's got potential and quality but can be inconsistent. A lot of players are like that, especially at the level we'll be looking at as opposed to the absolute best.

Well, plenty here were saying the same "trust KM decision over x", "Burnley fans are x" over posts criticising the signing of wonder keeper Muric in 2024 and see what happened?
I am taking this signing with a pinch of salt. Never pulled up trees at Burnley and we are paying 16 mil for him. Rather get a tested and proven PL MF like Lukic, fingers crossed we are still in for him
IMO the only players worth signing from relegated sides are tested and proven ones - such as Jimenez, Wan-Bissaka, Bowen etc. if not don't bother [Post edited 3 Aug 11:10]

The witch hunt for Muric started earlier. As I said at the time, he was an all or nothing keeper with nothing in between.
He wasn’t that bad of a keeper and I’d still have picked him over any option we had last season. Good luck to him, found himself a good move to Italy.
But yeah, Florentino doesn’t play 200 odd games for Benfica if he was crap … I’d definitely take Burnley fans opinions over anyone else who works in football… |  |

Looking at his stats, he was one of the better tacklers in the league last season.

It was also his first season in a new country with a totally different style of football and his manager was Scott Parker.
Hopefully someone can find his passing stats for the PL for Burnley and post them. He appears someone who gets the ball and moves it forward quickly rather than sideways/backwards.
He may well turn out to be a perfect fit for our style, yet not a Scott Parker team. |  | | |

Nunez at points last season looked like an absolute world beater as a 10, but after the full season I think it's pretty fair to say that it's not his best position. Similar to a lot of fans views on Sindre after the first few games Vs Sindre now

We need at least one more, and this guy sounds like that’s what he does. But we also need him to then see the pass, and make the pass 85-90% of the time. Short passes, long passes, cross field balls, forwards, backwards, quick and neat. This guy clearly does not do that. We don’t need a £16M midfielder who can do half the job, we need a £30M player that can do the whole job. |  |

He is a brilliant addition for us, I didn't see him at Burnley but I remember him at Benfica, after Renato Sanches broke through and left for Bayern, he was very highly thought of there and in the national team youth set up.
I'm not saying he's hit the heights initially thought of, but for us, it is a really strong signing. Fantastic ball winner, breaks up play very well, and real physical attributes.
Not particularly bothered about other fans reviews on this one, he's a great pick up, expect him to do really well here for us. [Post edited 3 Aug 14:48]

Absolute bull@hit. I know a Burnley supporter very well. I went with him to a couple of games last season , I saw this guy play, ALL of their supporters i spoke to said he was improving as the season went on. Looked a strong lad , a ball winner , and a hard worker. Doubt if there are many on here who have actually seen him play. So believe the first hand experience for a change instead of other peoples rubbish. [Post edited 3 Aug 10:54]

I saw him a few times live for Benfica and quite frankly, he wasn't very good.
However it was a few years ago now and so he was younger. One game was in the CL vs Inter Milan so.....

He’s not a progressive, going to drive with the ball or break the lines passing type player though, he’s a stop attacks and do the simple thing.

Burnley fan here. I quite liked him because he kept going, but if you look at Up the Clarets forum for last season he gets some real stick. They call him The Octopus due to him managing to get the ball in,what looks like, an impossible tackle but his stats can be misleading. His passing is high because he passes it about 3 ft sideways or backwards but a lot of the time when he wins the ball he then gives it away. He would probably be better in a mid table team who aren't under the cosh as much as we were. Even after slagging him off all last season, a lot of fans are upset he is leaving as they think he could have bossed midfields in the Championship. You went for the wrong one as our best midfielder is Hannibal. He looked the real deal at the end of last season so fans are hoping he doesn't get snapped up. | | | |

The passing sideways and backwards is an interesting comment because i've seen Benfica fans say the exact opposite and I quote - '' he is one of the best in the league in terms of progressive passes, so his incredible passing % isnt because he just passes it sideways and back. ''
