I don't feel optimistic for tonight 10:11 - Oct 23 with 3322 viewsDubtractor

I think it's because Forest under Glasner will basically be a Premier league level version of the sort of team that Ipswich have struggled against for my entire lifetime of watching them.

Big physical lads, direct, not afraid to spoil the game. Think of all the games against teams like Rotherham over the years. Tranmere under John Aldridge in the 90s.

We struggled against the likes of Palace, Forest, Everton last time we were here too - that home game against a badly struggling Everton was a real reality check in a game we'd all marked as one to win.

I'm fearing a 1-0 defeat.

Yeah it's crossed my mind this Dubbers but that said , we're different this season right ?

Not denying it'll be tough but we're a little more streetwise this time around

Forest are a much better team than their stats/position suggest. Should've handily beat Palace and thought they were decent value for a point vs Arsenal. Will be a really tough game.

I am leaning towards our first draw of the season. 1-1. Which would be a decent result I think.

I think it'll be a very tight competitive game. I'd rank all 3 results as an equal probability. Ultimately would be happy with a point but a win would be our best one of the season so far.

Yes, this one is a step up from Fulham and Sunderland. The Everton game last time around is exactly the parallel I'd been making in my head. If nothing else, it'll be interesting to see how many blows we can land. I'd take a draw right now if offered, more interested in the Hull game next week, no catastrophe if we fall short tonight but of course we have to target points.

As well as we have started, and we've got points vs those we may have marked as "we can get points off these" and Forest will likley be in that bracket.... i think we drop points tonight. Score draw will be lovely, and keep us above the 1 PPG curve

However, unlike last time - or many previous seasons - we do now have a number of big, physical players on the roster (even with Lukic missing). Midfield and CBs are far from lightweight, then we have all three centre forwards like a battle and the men behind them are chasers and harriers.

We've seen already this season that the team can match others in the physical battle (it's primarily sharpness of passing which has let us down) and hold onto the ball in challenges, unless heavily outnumbered.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

I buy into all that you say, but on a positive note - we are due to keep a clean sheet anytime soon, so I will go for a tight game that we snatch in the 87th minute through an Enciso goal.

I thought we played alright for the most part against Everton. Was a brutal reality check though, not much between both boxes really, Clarke (IIRC) misses a decent chance early, pen appeal turned down, Davis fluffs his lines in the box and boom, game over. They had 2 chances and stuck them both away.

Forest will be a tough nut, I think they'll prove to be a really solid side this season who finish closer to the middle than bottom. Good manager, quality all over the pitch, and good bench options in Hudson-Odoi, Wood, Sangare, McAtee etc.

Big night for Pala, if he can get the better of his countryman Dominguez in the middle we might have some joy.

1-1

We are certainly due a draw. More than a bit annoying MGW is playing after thinking all week he wouldn't be. Lukic is a blow as well.

Wouldn't be disappointed with a point tonight, especially given the weather.

I had a dream a few nights ago that I had woken up Saturday morning forgetting we'd played Friday night and quickly checked the score.

We win 1-0 thanks to an OG.

I just can't see them losing 4 in a row, almost just based on probability.

Might not be a bad time to get our first draw. Wouldn't take it, because I'm enjoying watching us, but I don't think anyone would be upset with a point.

Forest have definitely not got the points they've deserved. Coventry at home they should have won comfortably, and I'm sure another game they got a goal disallowed that possibly shouldn't have been , and would have won them the game...

However, we certainly seem different to last time in the PL and also we are at home! We shouldn't be scared of anyone at home, bar the top few teams.

A draw wouldn't be a bad result I suppose.

Early season, but we can’t afford another defeat in my opinion. Draw would probably be a good result for the reasons you say …. But I’d be disappointed with a loss. We’ve spent nearly £200M and actually been playing pretty well. No reason we can’t pick up at least a point. Forest have lost last three.

Same concerns as everyone else, and honestly I’d be tempted to take a draw right now. If they get ahead, I can see them shithousing their way through it. Stormy, rainy, windy night, and they’ll spoil, dive and waste time at every opportunity. Look at their manager’s press conference and the comments the Blue Monday lads picked up on. He’s basically said the only thing that matters is the result. Performance doesn’t matter, approach doesn’t matter, it’s all about the 3 points. If we score first, they have to come out, If they score first, it could be horrible.

I'm of the opinion that they are better than their results suggest and tonight might be a bit of a reality check

However they aren't ticking in full gear at the moment, it probably is a good time to get them, hopefully the crowd and contribute to a positive outcome

Fortunately that's not how probability works. I'm going for a town win, but then again I am overly optimistic most of the time.

A game made for them

As I've said a few times - Glasner did a number on us last time he visited PR; a big team sitting deep, spoiling, then a Mateta goal.

We're a much much better team now though.

I also have a bad feeling about tonight.

Forest playing better than results suggest, and we are due a kick in the nuts.

That said I am not sure what last time has to do with tonight, we have already beat two sides at home that would fall into a similar bracket as those you mention.
