We're not quite at the stage of posting a picture of a box of trill on this one, but we're getting closer to it

| We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub. |

We weren’t overly noisy during the match but travelling to and from the ground were top notch. Amazing atmosphere.

Loudest I heard all day was a chorus of “whose the sh*t of Anglia....” on a three quarters empty train carrying mostly foreign tourists and parents taking their toddlers shopping....

He's absolutely right and it had nothing to do with the fact it was an open stand. Atmosphere was dead. We were constantly trying to get songs going and no-one was joining in. Just row upon row of people standing there with their arms crossed staring at the pitch. Not good enough, frankly. I guess it's because we're doing well now and folk are just turning up to watch us win...

It is always better up north and in grounds where there is 800 or so. Looking forward to Fleetwood.

Fans on 09:08 - Sep 22 with 4259 views | Oxford_Blue | The open terracing never helps. Same at Portsmouth and Swindon. Noise doesn’t travel within the stand and you can’t get the echo. Also quite a warm day - creates a languid feeling perhaps. The support has been excellent this season.

Portsmouth doesn’t have an open top stand. Just saying.
Fans on 10:11 - Sep 22 with 4150 views | textbackup | very very flat atmosphere, the pub pre game was dead, the ground dead, walking away from ground got a few songs. proper weird away end it must be said. the open roof didn't/doesn't help matters, but still it was just about as poor as ive ever experienced following town

It's not a bad ploy putting away fans in a seated area(not going to say stand!)without cover, you totally eliminate that speaker box effect..

Watch some clips from San Lorenzo in Argentina. Entire stadium is open and you could probably hear the crowd from England when they get going. It's about attitude. If you want to get involved and make a din, you can. It's easy to blame the day trippers who are just turning up because we're winning again, but we were singing non-stop (easy chants that people know) and even the 'lads' around us would only join in half heartedly for a round, then stop. We acquired a reputation after last season's efforts for having a raucous support base. Be a real shame if we started to lose it...

Couldn’t hear that at all from the left hand side of the stand, chants didn’t carry well at all.

If we had 2000 hardcore ultras it wouldn't be a problem, but fans are more inclined to join in I suppose if the noise is captured within an area, dunno why, but contrast Peterborough with an open end like Accy or Gills and it's worlds apart, yet the same fans give or take with the same songs are there...
