Any chance he might rescue us from this purgatory ? Surely ME would sell for a nominal fee now to stop haemorrhaging £5m per season, and Ed’s now worth £200 m apparently

We are a basket case currently but with a local owner , competent general manager, and a written off debt we could surely go places again.

Why do you think anyone else would want to take on the job of losing 5m a year?

Would you do it?

I really don't think that in football club terms £200m is anywhere near enough.

And he's not even "THAT" rich considering what he'd be taking on

Enduringly lovable, intelligent and thunderingly exquisite.

He'd have to be a bloody idiot with horrendous advisors to get inolved here.

Think he'll swerve this one.

Having his music chase me around on holiday for weeks on end was definitely some sort of purgatory.

If I had £200m I would certainly seriously consider it.

He might be rich enough to buy us, he might even be rich enough to top up the budget in League One, but he wouldn't be anywhere near rich enough to give us a top half budget in the Championship.

In general I think Evans leaving is likely to result in us having less money rather than more. The judgement is whether he's so incompetent that you'd rather be poorer.

That £200m would be gone within ten seasons if you really wanted to compete

He’d be crazy to take the club on.
The only chance of us evolving again is for Evans to give the club back to the fans with scaled investment over a set timescale and asking the club to pay the money back only if it’s in a position to pay. It needs to rebuild itself, being first and foremost at the heart of the community. We need itfc guys within the infrastructure. It will take a lot of hard work but I believe it’s still achievable in my lifetime.

I am betting that there is more chance of seeing Ed Howe come in as our manager this season

Can't we convince Bernie Ecclestone to come in for whatever time he has left and then leave us all his cash in a trust?

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

The same Ecclestone who delayed the introduction of the Halo device because it would make the cars look less pretty?

I'm not sure Romain Grosjean would act as a character witness for the "fit and proper person" test.

What are we thinking - centre back, or would he be more of a goal threat up front?

Ed hasn't the sort of money to run a football club. Evans is way richer and he doesn't seem to be able to afford it either.

I wondered the same this morning when it came on the news that he was the most listened to performer this year or something.

True. Although I wonder how much cheaper it would be with some decent decision making? We've wasted a lot of money and suffered the double whammy of a huge cut in income due to poor leadership.

He could be part of a consortium though.

I'd consider it. You'd be an absolute legend if you turned this club around.

He can mitigate his losses by churning out one extra bland pop hit each year. For some reason people seem to like them.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.
