I fully expect Lambert to attack the fans tonight 06:49 - Dec 1 with 6894 viewsThe_Romford_Blue

Think his meltdown and madness will come to a head tonight after the game, particularly if we lose. Any mention whatsoever of it being ‘a tough week’ or anything like that and I expect Lambert to go full circle from his initial love of the fanbase to blaming all of us for the current shambles.

The Phil stuff, the paranoia, the Hendry stuff, the petition, the podcast snippets, the emails to O’Neil.. I just totally expect the straw of Lambert to snap and his mask to totally slip about the fans. He knows he’s done here and has no reason to carry on with his ‘the fans are nae normal’ act.

Prediction - We draw 1-1, he goes on a crazy paranoid rant about the fans, and the old ‘mutual consent’ statement comes out before Saturdays game.

Poll: Would you take a draw tonight if offered right now?

He won't have a full-on rant about 'fickle fans' until he's faced home supporters. I think he still thinks he can make up any old rubbish to describe performance because there's no fans in stadia at the moment.

What we *might* see is some kind of dig about 'websites' or 'people judging from their keyboards'.

I think he’ll go for the media tonight and save an attack on the fans for doubting his ability at a later date.

No one asks him tough questions so I think we will just limply lose and he'll slide off with a few mumbles about injuries and the players giving him everything.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

If it's the same set of fans who went for Mick when (mid table Championship) Town went to Brentford then I'll allow it.

People who think that Town fans are blameless with our current plight are a bit special.

Turned out well.

He has been saved on the double by Covid -19. First it saved his job at the end of last season. Now, because there are no fans to bait him, he wont lose the head like he normally does when he is under pressure. Would be a completely different story if there were baying fans and banners in the stadium.

You blame the fans for McCarthy leaving, which is true, but not in the way you think. I feel certain that Evans only chose to not renew McCarthy's contract because crowds had dropped to beneath 10000. I really doubt that Evans, a businessman, would have been as strongly influenced by the vocal dissenters than the lost ticket revenue.

Therefore I'd be careful blaming the fans for our plight, it's very unfair to point the finger at people choosing to not go to games, at the end of the day it's their money to spend. Sure the anti-McCarthy chanting was a bit much but I'm not convinced it would've had that much sway on the owner.

No chance mate. Think back to what Evans has done in the past. We are at least 4 weeks of sh1te away from him taking action. Remember how many ‘this is it, he’s gone’ posts were on here in the past? Evans is a bottle job.

Truly impaired.

Crowds beneath 10,000? No need to invent stuff to justify wanting Mick out. It was right for him to go when he did even if it's worked out being disastrous for us.

Not announced attendance but season ticket holders not turning up so lost programme revenue, food, etc.

I'm not making it up, I often ask stewards what the crowds actually are based on turnstiles. Cardiff, Hull and Barnsley in 2018 all had fewer than 10000.

You do realise that an official attendance is recorded for police figures and stuff through the electronic scanners?

Even if we go off announced attendances my point still stands. Evans' still would have been concerned by the supposed 13000 against, Hull, Reading, Barnsley, Cardiff than he would've by the few hundred vocal dissenters, at least they were buying tickets.

Well, he's certainly more likely to attack the fans than have his team attack the Oxford goal, judging by recent performances.

Er, what? The stewards have access to the number through the gate. Why would they have to make a number up? What exactly do I stand to gain by lying here?

Okay fella, you're perfectly entitled to disbelieve me. But I assure you I'm not lying.

Don't worry, if I ever need to 'feel like a big man', I highly doubt I'll do it on an online football forum, because that would just be sad.
