That's funny, I'd totally forgotten we need one now Chambers has gone.

As others have said, could be someone only just arrived or not even here yet. but also Norwood could be in with a shout. I'm not joking - he has that never say die, battling spirit you need from a captain. And it might just mature him off the pitch too, to have that responsibility.

I suspect we’ll sign someone who will become captain, or, a bit controversial, I wonder if he’ll give it to Norwood (depending if we sign a striker or 2 or not - which were clearly in for).


Cant see him giving it to Norwood - he’s got lots of enthusiasm but I’m not sure that I see he has the overall skills for the job. I reckon it will be one of the new midfield players - someone who’s come in and sold on to PC’s philosophy. Drive, passion, energy, ability - someone who exemplifies everything Cook desires in his team.

Personally I would have loved to see Downes go on to be a mainstay in the 1st team and be given the armband but I can’t see that happening
