Brilliant performance, but football is a simple game if you score more goals than the opposition irrelevant of how you perform you win.
The RM players played to their strengths, a GK who performed his role of stopping shots/headers. Pool players went to sleep for a split second and RM scored. |  | | |

I thought their defence was superb too. This is how they've played all season and was no fluke. Madrid only looked uncomfortable when Liverpool had their high press in the first 20 or 30 minutes, after that they didn't look under too much pressure. |  | | |

That was the way I saw it too. Stats say Liverpool had 9 shots on target and Courtois did make a couple of good saves but it didn't feel like he was making a string of spectacular saves to me. On top of that, I thought Real had a legitimate goal ruled out (OK, I didn't know the rule on that one) and should have had at least one more on the break but for a better final pass. | |

That’s not true though, is it? The difference was some poor finishing from Liverpool and one of the games of his life from Courtois. Not sure how much Ancelotti mastery was behind either of those. |  |
