Would never have been the whole 10 days, but funeral is either going to be next Saturday or Monday so could take out games next weekend too.

The Govt giving them choice and them making the wrong one isn't a surprise though.

Or you could flip it around and say it denies clubs and fans the opportunity to come together to show their respects. So I don't think it's clearly sensible. It's not a surprise though.

Expected in the end but a complete joke really. Not a single good reason to do this other than some vague notion of 'respect' which hasn't been applied with any consistency across the sporting, or indeed any other, sector, and indeed is a decision that has been made in spite of the official guidance.

Obviously the big wigs can give themselves a pat on the back for how much respect they're showing but people who have arranged (and forked out for) travel, accommodation etc. have been screwed over whilst any non-contracted workers at any such events have been robbed of a payday when, up until yesterday, all the news was about how now is the most expensive time to be alive ever.

Sadly we are a very performative nation with a lack of desire to approach things with common sense.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.
