Wheels loosening up the road. 21:47 - Mar 15 with 3737 viewscatch74

1-1 with bottom of the table Huddersfield, red card. Woeful football match.

I hope we go up because I hope we go up, but the prospect of playing them off the park at Carrow Road is also very exciting.

They were abysmal the other day too apparently. I’ve not been paying much attention to the Championship, so am surprised they’re not in the top 6. That should be almost guaranteed with parachute payments.

Looks like Burnley have used their funds wisely. Watford and Norwich scrapping for a play of place.
Would be interested to know funds available to Luton v the parachute clubs.

And drawing 1 all when the opposition had 0 shots on target is quite a feat

Luton are doing very well aren’t they. Everyone thought Nathan Jones was the reason, but seeing how Jones crashed at S’ton (and previously at Stoke) maybe that’s not the case.

The superb Swiss Ramble has comparitor info on the Championship accounts from the last available year (21/22). It gives a guide even if not for this season - https://swissramble.substack.com/p/qpr-finances-202122. This post is talking about QPR (awfully wasteful/poor management), but all the teams are on the charts. Here’s the income one:

I watched their game the other day. Yep they were abysmal

Oh dear, never mind.

Sky yet again described them as promotion-chasing norwich. They are 4 points off the play-offs.

Problem is, they could still win a few matches and get up through them.

We could easily be in the same division next season but it is still possible we could be 2 divisions apart again.

Mick Harford has been (back) at the club since 2016, so he has been there throughout most of this amazing rise. I doubt there's any ex-player in the country who means more to a club's fans that this man. 'Club legend' is hardly enough to describe what he has done there.

(I know Colchester supporters wonder ' what if Harford had stayed'?. He was assistant manager to Geraint Williams the year U's finished 10th in the Championship, but then said the driving to Essex was messing up his back.)

I’m still grateful they stupidly decided to sack Farke. The best coach they’ll probably ever get and they get rid of him. That’s probably quickly closed the gap in quality between us both.

How on earth did Sheff Weds get less income than Rotherham?

I thought Sheff Weds were the missing club from making "The Big Seven" in the Premiership....................or have I been reading too much by their fans?

Covid. I hadn’t thought about that when I posted this, but those revenues for 2021 were for the period with no crowds, so a great leveller. I’ve just had a quick look at their accounts and their revenue was almost double that for the previous year.

So that table’s probably not that representative - anyone with 2021 figures will be artificially lower in the table than they normally would.

I think they were in a vicious circle with Farke, incredible performance in the Championship, but dreadful in the Premier League. Part of that may have been down to wider issues in the club and a determination not to be financially irresponsible, all of which is laudable, but he couldn’t even get them semi-competitive in terms of staying up in the Premier League (twice).

Personally, I think its kind of us to give the other champ teams a chance, for a change.

Last day Championship fixtures.

Two of the teams Norwich look to displace in a play off position , Millwall & Blackburn, meet at the den.

Meanwhile Norwich are at home to Blackpool, I’m sure if they can’t fill the away end that we can help.

Mick owes us too.

Let's hope it's all out of reach for them by then.

Huddersfield don't feel like they have improved under Colin much so it's a great result Mickesque really. 1 all with no shots on target is a wet dream for him

Budgies will be getting nervous you would think. Haven't managed their usual approach of being relegated and bouncing straight back as champions. Four-point gap to the top six.....

Will be good to see us V Nodge become a regular fixture again. We owe them a few tonkings, to redress the balance of recent years.

I wonder if they are totting up the number of clubs above them and thinking that top seven would be a play-off spot?
