Carragher 20:19 - Mar 27 with 2845 views | vapour_trail | Never liked the bloke. Really hanging Trent out to dry for leaving Liverpool for Madrid. To the point he’s inciting the scousers to get on his case for the end of his time there. Citing Gerrard as some sort of loyalist when it’s common knowledge he was desperate to sign for Mourinho and Chelsea, until the frighteners were put on him. Blaming TAA and not the club for leaving on a free and not earning them millions. He might as well have rolled down his window and spat on the face of the blokes child.

He's so biased over Liverpool, it's unreal.. I'd noticed that he hadn't been commentating on Liverpool games as much as he had been.. maybe sky took him off those games, as he wasn't impartial, at all The thing with Gary Neville, is he is a Man United fan, but has no qualms with calling them out, or criticising them.. Carra is extremely loathed to do the same and there will always be an excuse..

It’s not just them - as fans, we demand loyalty especially from players deemed to be one of ours. The bigger the club the more of this sense of entitlement there seems to be. In truth, a lot of players are far more pragmatic and value winning things or better wages far more importantly than ties to one particular club.
Carragher on 23:06 - Mar 27 with 2053 views | cressi | Well nobody at top level wanted Carrager apart from the club he was at. Who can blame Trent biggest club in the world wants you good luck.

Carragher on 06:46 - Mar 28 with 1576 views | Vaughan8 | Agreed. He's making out it's all Trents fault. No blame on the club, even making excuses that people have changed at the club on some clip from the overlap nonsense they do. I don't know how these things work but surely with 2 years/18 months left, a conversation has to happen of "do you want to stay, how much do you want" etc etc. The funny thing is, they done it.to 3 of their players so it's not like Trent is the only one.... He's won pretty much everything at Liverpool and is in his mid 20s. He might want a new challenge etc.

To be fair it is a it easier to criticise united than Liverpool

Carragher on 09:08 - Mar 28 with 1228 views | Garv | If the scousers were all as much a family as they like to make out with the whole 'us against the rest of country' thing, they'd be pleased and proud that one of their own is on the verge of joining the biggest club in the world. It's also another all too common example of football supporters thinking they have to be so emotionally invested in their club's finances. The outrage that he is leaving on a free instead of fetching a massive fee - as if Madrid were guaranteed to pay it in the first place. Absolute plums.

Carragher on 09:10 - Mar 28 with 1218 views | BlueMoon | How he's still working after that spitting thing I don't know. Not as if he's a decent pundit either. It's a bit like the tactic taken (albeit less so recently) by your friend and mine Chris Sutton. Taking a popular view of the fans is an easy way to ingratiate yourself with them and stay on their radar. [Post edited 28 Mar 9:11]

Yeah, I can understand the pro-Liverpool mindset. I wish Ipswich had instilled that type of fierce loyalty in our best players over the years; however, spitting at a kid is beyond acceptable. He was a decent player for club and country too and worked hard on the pitch for any team he played with, it's just shame he lowered himself to that.

I think it's the same situation with Salah, his contract is up this summer and he's yet to renew. He'll probably be off to Madrid for free too!

Definitely not. He is not an amazing defender but he is nowhere near as bad as some make out. The other parts of his game are just incredible. Not many players in history can win you a game from right back. He can.
