How much will Omari be missed 20:17 - Jul 25 with 3453 viewsLen_Brennan

... if we have Philiogene, Szmodics & Clarke to start, with Ogbene, Chaplin & Broadhead to come on?
At Championship level, & if those 6 stay relatively fit, we will be an absolute nightmare for opposition defences.

Plus Burns in a few months.

Could well be the financial headroom Omari’s (likely) departure gives us will result in strengthening the squad in other positions.

Will be (potentially ) massively missed

He’s the icing on the cake

And with Burns to come back...

I think the only question mark is over the right wing, where McKenna's system seems to rely on pace and power. With Ogbene still easing his way back and Burns not available for months, we look a little light - not sure Clarke or Philogene are the answer there.

Might use Young a bit there in the short term perhaps?

I think we'd still miss Omari because he's better than all 6 of those. However I think we can cope without him if we must. Another plus is the amount of interchangeability. Not just that we have 2 left, 2 right and 2 central options, but arguably 3-4 good options for each position.

Oh and you even forgot Burns still to come back as well!

Can you imagine him in this team and in the league? He'd rip it up, best player in championship history.

We certainly should be, and honestly think we’ll be ok without him. But we’d be even better with him because he’s better than all of them

Need him to stay. Imagine his value if he plays like we know he can. Imagine him softening up the defence for 75 mins then bring on one of those you mentioned.

Getting Philogene in Jan was always a bit strange - perhaps it was expected the Hutchinson would move on.

He would be, but we’ve still got the best attack in the league (I think). We couldn’t have dreamed of half of these players last time in the Championship. So in that respect we shouldn’t miss him in terms of results. I’ll miss him taking the piss though.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

And other than Broadhead, looking at the bench, there's not many on to come on that can create the wizardry that Omari does.

If losing, or a game where we need to mix things up, we would need more depth if Omari goes imho.

It's how much over a season and not individual games. we have the players in the building to fill the gaps and at least mitigate how much we miss him. IF we get the right CM and Striker signings we will be very very strong.

It's a very long hard season and I'll bump this when KM says "we're down to bare bones"..:)

We'll obviously miss him But as a Champ side we've got enough in the wide positions but if he does go I'd like to see a new central creative no10,I love Chappers and Sammie should be effective but I don't think either can be good enough after our next promotion!🤞

I honestly don’t think we will miss him that much to be honest.

I also don’t think he will go on to have much of a Prem career. I think he was very good for us in the Championship last time round but he looked out of his depth last season. Just like most of our squad did. I think the signings we made last summer in Ogbene , Clark and Szmodics and the addition of Philogene in January more than make up for the loss of Hutchinson now we are back in the Championship. If we can get anything above £30m we should be laughing. He’s a decent championship player but not irreplaceable.

He will be missed loads. Nobody can play his role.

We will still be fine, but if he, by some miracle, is playing for us next season in the champ. he will be unplayable.

Hutch is a cheat code for the Championship, if we by some miracle keep him, but if we don’t we’ll still be a (the?) top championship team. Missed - yes. Catastrophic for promotion chances - no.

He's better than all of those you've named so a huge miss.

He has the ability to be the best player in that entire league if he's at it.

No doubt - as he’s had 2 seasons under KmK.

This coming season however, I believe Philogene can be as good as Hutch was during our Championship season.
