| I see freedom of speech is irrelevant here 21:59 - Mar 26 with 3096 views | blueM3 | Firstly, if Mark Ashton has lied and tried to perform some cover up then by all means he should be held accountable in the position he’s in. But…. What would the meltdown be like had Kier Starmer appeared in our ground? How about Kemi Badenoch? Whatever your political allegiance, be it Labour, Tory, Reform, or Lord help us Green, this board is still a festering hole of bile and vitriol. If I’m a labour voter am I allowed to pledge my allegiance here if the chance arises? May I wave my Tory flag here? Whether some of you like it or not, Reform is a political party that is getting votes. Just because it may not fit your political ideology, that doesn’t make you right. I’m not a Lib Dem fan, but am I going to chastise someone who is just because they filmed a few short clips at a football club? I’m not sure if any of you are aware but Ipswich Town Football Club isn’t on the voting register…. It has no political allegiance. That said, if YOU are on the list to vote, you’re free to vote for whoever you want without a bunch of chimps on this board saying who you can or cannot support. The meltdown here is truly staggering. The fact that a supporters group is wheeling themselves out with statements is laughable along with it all. They don’t represent my political views and have no need to support or act against the club in anything in my name. Let’s just concentrate on the football. I couldn’t care less if the Jolly Roger was flying above the cobbold at the next home game. I’m there for the football and i think people need to realise what they actually support a club for. The football on the pitch. Marcus Evans was supposedly involved in shady deals. Probably somewhat worse than a politician meeting a few people at the club. Especially as the club has stated they don’t promote any political allegiance. Were any videos released by the club to the contrary? No. So everybody just get off their high horse, let people vote how they wish and just carry on with the 22 players and a bag of air being hoofed around a pitch each Saturday | | | | |

Something about itfc not having a political allegiance. This chap must have missed the part where Ashton gifted reform 6 shirts with Farage 10 on the back | | | | Login to get fewer ads

| I see freedom of speech is irrelevant here on 22:06 - Mar 26 with 1904 views | ITFC_Forever | Completely missing the point. The naivety, the lies and the dishonesty. The fact ITFC should be, as you say apolitical means MA shouldn’t have allowed the club to be used for promotional material for a political party, especially one as divisive as Deform. | |

| This has been explained ad nauseam ffs. on 22:06 - Mar 26 with 1873 views | Dyland | It would still be outrageous if it were Starmer, Lord Buckethead or Greta Thunberg. All of whom would provoke a negative response from fans. You can't endorse any of them. Football clubs are meant to be apolitical. Ashton has allowed a political party to make a promotional video using the club's brand and property. The club represents a broad church and if he is indeed responsible he needs to do one. | |

| I see freedom of speech is irrelevant here on 22:07 - Mar 26 with 1864 views | TheMoralMajority | Jesus christ. For the umpteeth time it's not about f'ing reform. It's about platforming a political party, *any* political party, denying it, lying about it and gaslighting the fans, all whilst claiming to be 'apolitical' Sure, carry on with the "whataboutery" if you want, serves no purpose. We all, as fans, have been taken for absolute mugs. You may be ok with that. I am not. There are those on the right who will go "yeah, but, what about Starmer, what about the Greens". There are those on the left who will scream to high heaven "Farage is a Nazi!!". None of these are the point (and neither side really do any service to the real issue) OUR CLUB IS NOT A POLITICAL MOUTHPIECE WE ARE NOT HERE TO HAVE OUR MONEY TAKEN OFF US AND BE LIED TO. REPEATEDLY. | |

| I see freedom of speech is irrelevant here on 22:12 - Mar 26 with 1752 views | Swansea_Blue | “this board is still a festering hole of bile and vitriol.” Missing the point by a mile. Most on the board are speaking out AGAINST bile and vitriol. It reflects very well on our fans that we don’t want to be associated with a person like Farage. I’m proud to see us reject hate, division, racism and homophobia. [Post edited 26 Mar 22:12]

| I see freedom of speech is irrelevant here on 22:12 - Mar 26 with 1743 views | mistert | The same principles should apply. However, the difference is that no other main party leader would have tried to pull a stunt like this and make such shameless political capital, so your question becomes entirely hypothetical If Nigel Farage was a genuine supporter or our local MP then I could hardly object in the slightest to him having a season ticket or attending matches. It's the lies and the shameful misuse and disrespect for our badge that I object to. [Post edited 26 Mar 22:27]

It’s not. It’s a load of nonsense. Starts of complaining about free speach while being given a platform to speak and then goes down hill from there.

Got another - suggests trolling. Question for you Waveney. Has anything you’ve read today from the new reports had any impact on your view of the situation, the club or our response?
