A lot of "football" in that team but I do worry about what happens if Gills start winning the physical battle, and also when they throw a few men forward on the counter themselves. Hopefully we've enough guile to undo them. | |

I like that team a lot, but there's not too much muscle in midfield.
That said, Nolan is about as intimidating as Angel Delight, and Huws hasn't taken hold of any game since we beat Newcastle (3.5 years ago, bloody hell), so I suppose it's worth a go. |  | | |

I was assuming we were still going 4-3-3. However, I can see how it could easily be 4-4-2 with Sears alongside Hawkins. Perhaps there is a fluidity that allows for something between these and 4-4-1-1. | |

My thoughts exactly. Let’s hope a) we keep the ball well and b) that Gillingham isn’t set up to bully us.
But wouldn’t be surprised if that’s a 442 and we’re not quite as light in midfield as it looks.

Have to give some credit to Lambert there, he stuck with the team because they were winning but has made some big changes now which you think would suit our style of play better. Of course having 2 young CB's could backfire but I think it's worth a risk.
