Did Morsy even break in to a run tonight? (n/t) on 22:06 - Sep 28 with 2791 views | Keaneish | I counted one mis-placed pass all night. Outstanding display tonight. Way too good for this level - no wonder he was a bit mythed that he was let go. I saw some comments questioning what he was here for after the Pizza Cup!!

Did Morsy even break in to a run tonight? (n/t) on 22:06 - Sep 28 with 2791 views | Dubtractor | What was particularly impressive for me, was the number of times he turned over possession without even needing to make a tackle, just used his body so well to easy players off the ball.

Did Morsy even break in to a run tonight? (n/t) on 22:12 - Sep 28 with 2701 views | SomethingBlue | Looked a class above and, really importantly, gave others a real platform to do what they are best at. Evans looked so much more comfortable and Celina seemed to understand him instinctively, which was a great sign. Cook may have been right, he might just transform this entire side.

Almost as if Paul Cook knows what he’s on about.

Noticed that, really nice change of speed on a number of occasions to get past players and ease us through the gears. It's so good to have him, could be huge for us.

How did we get him, like others have said, he almost had 100% pass, tackle and dribble rate the whole game. Final piece of the puzzle. He is also vocal in organising around him . An absolute monster of a player. So calm and collected on the ball. Whoever got rid of him needs sacking.

Yeah that is what impressed me the most. Constantly getting himself in front of the opposition player, both defensively and moving forward. Absolute quality performance.

Also maintain that the first goal is 50% him haring after their terrified centre back. Samy Morsy, he's coming for you.

Looks to get the ball forward more often than not too and calls others out for not doing it. Classy footballer. Evans certainly blossomed next to him. That’s one partnership sorted. Burgess and Edmundson is another that’s nearly there and Penney and Fraser are starting to gel too. [Post edited 28 Sep 2021 22:33]

Did Morsy even break in to a run tonight? (n/t) on 22:26 - Sep 28 with 2371 views | Nthsuffolkblue | Great positioning, organising and passing. He did trot back a couple of times when the ball got beyond midfield and take it off the attackers before they could put the defence under pressure. A superb debut. Still unsure how much it was down to him or Donny being poor that our players had so much more time and space all over the pitch. Having someone play like Morsy did in his position makes a big difference. Let's hope the other DCMs can learn from him too.

93 passes completed out of 96. When you consider that under Lambert there were plenty of games where we had about 150-200 completed passes as a team. Absolutely sensational debut. Did everything you’d want from a leader and midfielder.

….and then we lose him for a month at the most important time of the season..! Nah I’m glad to hear he looked so good.

Make that 100%. Also about 20 minutes in he was absolutely laying in verbally to Burgess (I think about holding a higher line) Burgess seemed to have some views of his own but there was only going to be one winner. We have our captain!

You’re right about him being vocal - obviously no idea what was being said - but he was constantly talking away and barking orders to Burgess and Edmundson. Another thing I saw in the first half, he played a short pass to Evans - who had time to turn on the ball and play forward - but he played it straight back to Morsy and he gave him a little talking to as as well, as if to say ‘get us going forward rather than giving it back to me’.
