No one likes that one. It's why I don't use it. Go more down the route of Cook is a useless clown, or Cook's floundering. Try to mix it up a bit to keep it fresh.

‘Cook is failing’ is accurate. If he leaves today then he would have failed.

Football (or real life) phrases you hate. on 13:26 - Dec 1 with 1291 views | Pendejo | Ipswich 0 Ipswich lost League 1 Ipswich I like "we go again" - used it last time I played football. We won convincingly, but at every kick the cry was "we go again, it's nil nil", no Oxford humbling or Derby County 2nd half fight backs. To which I credit that phrase.

You don't get to choose whether or not you'd like a foul. I think a shining example of doing one's best was Daryl Murphy a few years ago against Nodge. Running on to a ball over the top, and is impeded by Timm Klose. He tried to keep his footing and lost the opportunity, rather than going to ground and trying to blag the penalty.

I always assumed that the “group” thing was also including coaches and physios etc. But yeah, there’s no real reason to say or mean “group of players” when you already have squad and team for that.

They know about football here (usually Liverpool) I don't care what level it's at if you gone to enough games you'd have to be a complete eejit not to know something about the game.
