We're not clinical enough 18:49 - Oct 15 with 2322 views | Dubtractor | It's been evident all season that we don't score as many as we should, given the opportunities we create and positions we get into, but it was pretty remarkable today. May seem odd to say that, given how many we do score, but I genuinely think we should have quite a few more, especially at home. I'm pretty certain we'll be looking again to get a fox in the box option in January.

We're not clinical enough on 18:53 - Oct 15 with 1980 views | Swansea_Blue | I agree, we're not. We often make poor decisions around the box which denies us easy opportunities and also *snatch at chances. (*if that can get through the rude word filter).

That's a separate metric. You'd need to do something clever with possession around the box and 'good positions' to properly use the stats to judge us against others. I don't think it's contentious to say we fail to make the most of our opportunities - we can all see that.

We're not clinical enough on 19:04 - Oct 15 with 1909 views | GeoffSentence | Fox in the box was exactly what I was thinking after the game. Not just this game, but so many that we have gone on to win, we would have benefited by having someone in the box who had the awareness to get their toe on the end of one of the many crosses that we flash across the face of the goal.

I know what you’re saying but the original point was “we don’t score enough”. Clearly we create a lot of opportunities but even today how many were actual clear chances?

What I find most interesting is the amount of pot shots we take over calmly finding a yard to create an easier chance to score. So many times the space was there but we just smacked straight into the standing defender. This is the first game where I've actually missed celina.

We're not clinical enough on 19:11 - Oct 15 with 1853 views | Mach_foreignBlue | We certainly need a Marcus Stewart ilk of signing to get us over the line. Get Johnson Clarke-Harris in !!!! But he is contracted with them until summer of 2024 so it may cost a significant amount of money.
We're not clinical enough on 19:12 - Oct 15 with 1833 views | FrimleyBlue | I appreciate why some are saying " look how many we have scored" But you are spot on. The fact is that the way we play and the number of attack waves we have we should have many more goals than we have already. That's just how it should be with the game we are playing and it's absolutely what KM would be expecting.

No, the original point was, word for word "we don't score as many as we should, given the opportunities we create and positions we get into,"

I'd go grab Bishop from pompy. Surprised we didn't go for him in the summer.

Hard to unlock the space when they defended so well. Red shirts everywhere. The bastards

Clarke Harris from Peterborough please .
We're not clinical enough on 19:33 - Oct 15 with 1621 views | JDB23 | No we’re probably not but I’m more concerned about how easy we are to score against with set pieces or balls into the box. It’s the only way most teams will have to score against us so you’d think we’d be locked in on that but just isn’t happening.

Neither Bishop or Clarke-Harris will be joining. They’d cost too much money and would they even want the move?

We're not clinical enough on 19:48 - Oct 15 with 1552 views | xrayspecs | I did make this point a few weeks ago and got shot down…top scorers etc. There is a lack of composure at times in most of our attacking players. The solution os not a new number nine but better finishing across the team. Watching the warm up we were unusually poor in the shooting drills, which sadly carried into the game.

I actually disagree. We've needed to take more pot shots instead of trying to score the perfect goal. The trouble is, we're not as good as we should be at scoring goals from the edge of the box.

I’ve been saying this all season. Not many teams actually put us under a lot of pressure in games, because our possession of the ball is generally so high. But as soon as we are under pressure in our box our defence is left wanting ( in my humble view) … our possession makes our defensive figures look good. But we don’t half give soft goals away, ( teams don’t really have to work hard to score against us) and the goal against is often against the run of play, which is all the more galling. If you have an off day , don’t lose the game…

Agree with that. I don’t think Chaplin put one away in the warm up - Harness looked the most composed, and surprisingly Edwards seemed pretty good as well. I put it down to the goal being smaller than the real thing - turns out they were just off it. Maybe we should select our forward line after that drill on the basis of the players that are hot on the day!

In the warm-up all the Lincoln shots were straight at their keeper or off target. He didn't have a save to make. It was a good warm-up for what he had in the match too!

I always wonder how easy it is to coach 'composure,' which is decision making as much as anything and finally finishing. Mick Mills seemed to be of the opinion that you can coach players and improve them but fundamentally, talent trumps coaching, either your players have it or they don't He seemed to feel that personnel is the key We play some brilliant football at times and have some really talented skillful players but we lack high quality strikers We are League One quality in the striking department for sure, would Ladapo, Ahadme, TJJ or Jackson start in Wednesday or Pompey's line up for example? There's a few other teams who have better strikers, Posh with Clarke-Harris for example Perhaps even Wickham at Forest Green?
