Have you still got yours up?

Ours came down on Thursday, can’t say it feels Christmassy whatsoever once the New Year is in.

Driving home from work I see people still have them up outside and turned on, cost of living crisis eh!

12th night isn't until Friday innit.

That said mine came down NYE. I'm with you, I really enjoy Christmas and the build up to it, I think it's a lovely time of year for me personally but once January ticks around I don't want to know. Fresh start, get those decorations in the loft.

I think it's depressing when people keep them up into the new year. Each to their own but I would have to take mine down on NYE.

Ours came down last Wednesday, 28th. As Clive has said, I love the build up to Xmas, great time of the year, but once Xmas Day & Boxing Day are over with I feel it's pointless having the tree and lights up still.

Yeah when I was younger they were always up until the 6th.

Exactly, I don’t really like putting them up but once they’re up it does get you into the spirit of it but yeah once Christmas is done then no need for them to be around, new year and back to work everyone is miserable it’s all over.

Another 12th nighter here. If you're going to do Christmas, you may as well do it properly. That's why I tell the kids that our santa likes a bottle of port and a whole pack of mince pies. None of this milk and carrot for the reindeer crap.

Definitely with you on the bottle of port for Santa - he (they) definitely seems to like that at ours... partially because KJ has said he's definitely not having any of her gin...

Does reindeer crap really need milk and carrot ? Any other recipe suggestions ?

Mine came down on the 31st Dec.No kids, so no point in having them up. I'm not a very Christmassy person to be honest. My wife just calls me a misery over it. If I had my way, it would just be a sprig of Holly over the fireplace. None of this flashy lights, breakdancing Santa's etc...

12th night is tomorrow, 5th January. Make sure you get them down then or bad luck will surely befall you.

Depressing? All that light and colour in the grimmest part of the year? How's it depressing?

As Clive said above, the build up is great, Christmas is great but from Jan 1st it's time for a fresh start. We start looking towards summer. Then at the end of the summer the cycle starts again as we build to Christmas.

At least that is my opinion. I don't say it out of misery, I genuinely love Christmas. Stick a snowman on the packaging for anything and I will want to buy it.

Well the tree came down on New Years Day. The cats had chewed it, eaten it, played in it and bashed it and it was looking a little sorry for itself. Most of the rest will be up until 6th and the Snowman bog roll will still be unrolling in the air (bathroom). It’s what Mrs C wants.

Regarding It not feeling Christmassy after New Years Eve, I agree entirely.

Reindeer crap can have serious consequences, can easily block your gutters or down pipe.

Never put any up. Was away second week of December until 23rd, then back to work.

For anyone who is not a fan of this time of the year, highly recommend going away on holiday and get some sun. I have been to Melbourne, Sydney and Barbados 3 of the last 6 years and it has been wonderful.

Great for the Roses though.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

We always go early - usually put the decorations up the weekend before December 1st but they're always down soon after the 25th. This year we left it later until the 29th, 2 years ago we got them down on boxing day once the kids had gone to bed!
