Didn’t see it myself, we walked back towards the Gasworks car park without a hint of trouble.

Interesting that they say not many police around.

I can’t remember attending a game where there were so many police in attendance - inside the ground too.

This is starting to become a worrying trend, back to back reports of trouble involving a number of our supporters....have we suddenly attracted an undesirable element to our games? Is it kids fancying their chances?

Either way it needs to be nipped in the bud quickly.

That's the thing, he simply didn't. It was Johnson who did it but it's Burns's fault in their mind because he was behind Johnson

Can anyone confirm if this actually happened….?

We were right next to away fans in Cowshed and there were punches thrown by both sides when they scored, big Ipswich fan came over and spat right at a town fan-he got nicked and rightly so, vile behaviour!

I couldn't understand that either. I must have blinked.
They were an odd bunch anyway. Any kind of physical contact and they booed the player after.

Part of the problem being certain social media sites glorifying the whole scene and the snotty nosed kids buying into it for their 5 minutes of fame

If hate crime and the like is jumped on then why shouldn’t this stuff also be treated the same

As a bloke in his 50’s it sickens me to see this behaviour starting to appear again. I lived in Ipswich at the General Gordon back in the day and as a 13-14 year old in the 80’s I saw plenty

I was right by the home fans and didn’t see any of this - not saying it didn’t happen, but all I saw was a lot of gesturing from both sets of fans. Hard to ‘trade’ punches given there is a gap and barriers between the two.

I also thought it was the most police I had seen at a game for some time - more than Wednesday and QPR certainly.

Can you define "a number"?

Wasn't Wednesday one fan who gave a lot of lip and got a kicking and the police are investigating?

Doesn't this sound like one Town fan receiving a kicking and an allegation that some Town fans had mouthed off?

Is your definition of "a number", one in each case?

There is no way you can blame Ipswich fans for this. HTFC home end was absolutely full of youths looking for aggro and there were zero police between the two. I saw a HTFC fan actually hit a steward (Indian lad) who just seemed to ignore the incident, he should have been escorted out immediately. If their Stewards are not doing anything, it is no surprise there is trouble. They also had their 'firm' in the side stand facing the away fans too. No police anywhere. I am not at all surprised it kicked off, but to blame Ipswich fans is ludicrous. They need to widen the gap between home and away and stick a load of police in-between the two, if that is how they want to cut the ground up. But also, where was the police at full-time? Its not hard to spot where HTFC troublemakers were going to come from a) the home end next to the away fans and b) the lot in the side stands.

If HTFC don't sort it out (and SWFC), and allow away fans to leave the ground safely, then they will bring a lot more trouble onto themselves as teams will start taking organised firms up there.

We were in the block on the furthest left as you looked at the pitch and there were half a dozen policemen in the stairway at the end of the stand.

Sickening enough for us middle-aged & older people, imagine the effect on any young kids if they witness it

Went to an away match at Palace when in my 30s - afterwards saw half a dozen or so of our young male "fans" attacking a Palace fan in the car-park, which included repeatedly punching & kicking him while he was on the ground.

Almost put me off ever going to football again, & it was quite a while before I did.

FV, if you can call it that, in England appears to have changed. Even fifteen/twenty years ago any “lads” worth their salt would be doing their very best to avoid police and attention and be in a pub miles away. Now looking at these Instagram away fans accounts and vlogs it appears to be full of sixth form aged lads throwing beer around under the stand and giving it large to impress their mates. Saw some video of Leeds yesterday at Southampton. Not quite the service crew. More anti social behavior than the trouble of years ago but it probably means regular away fans are much more likely to be caught up in it as well.

Also appears everyone wants to “get the badge in” these days, then there is a chance you might come unstuck in the wrong place I guess.

Isn’t it just. Poor punctuation, terrible sentence structures, poor spelling, inappropriate use (or lack of) apostrophes, split infinitives, superfluous commas, incorrect subject–verb agreements and at least one dangling modifier.

(But seriously, I don’t understand what drives anyone to be a dick towards another person just because they support a team wearing different colours. Huddersfield even have the same colours! I absolutely hate this tribal sh*t with a passion. If it was down to me, we’d all be sharing the same stands and allowed to chill out in our seats with a beer while supporting our team. Maybe I was meant to be an American).

Underage kids wanting to impress / show off on Instagram and TikTok. Similar scenes at Hillsborough not too long ago.

Wednesday was a group of their yoof gathering outside the away end. They were looking for similar aged town fans not wearing team colours. I believe it is becoming a trend in football again. Not the same thing but at Shrewsbury last year, on my way back to the car, one Ipswich fan screamed in my face ‘Champions of Europe, you’ll never sing that’ I was walking and chatting with a Shrewsbury fan and his granddaughter and was so embarrassed to be a Town fan.
I think the vast majority of our fans are amazing but if I see Town fans causing trouble, I for one will report it and I hope I’m not alone in that. Stay safe and enjoy the football.

If this ever happened it would be the day me and the boy stop going to football. The banter etc with the away fans is all part of the experience. I've watched a rugby game and find the atmosphere so boring for this reason.
