Do you think Leicester might be Sheff Weds 13:55 - Jan 20 with 4555 views | unstableblue | And will have a wobble despite the 8 point gap And Saints will be Plymouth?! Watching this saints game, just can’t see them not getting an automatic. Downes is purring. A silly analogy I know. As the Sky pundit states “have we ever seen a stronger top 4 in the Championship?” Which is credit to Town to be honest

Leicester, Southampton and Leeds will be promoted I feel, I don’t think we had the squad depth which is what has iced our momentum.

Leicester have for more quality than Sheffield Wednesday and I don't see them being caught by us. Southampton could well go on to win the league though. [Post edited 20 Jan 2024 16:20]

Win on Monday and we'll be back in the automatic promotion places

Do you think Leicester might be Sheff Weds on 14:26 - Jan 20 with 3163 views | Joey_Joe_Joe_Junior | No, I don’t have the stats but this if it keeps up will probably be looked at the strongest top end of the Championship in recent history, if not ever. It’s very unusual for all three clubs that have come to down to be this established and this good. Usually there is a yoyo club or two, usually there is a club that completely implodes. Sure there’s been teams that win it with ridiculous points totals (Reading and others) but this is levels not really seen with 3 or 4 clubs at the top. Just our luck of course. We were probably fairly strong favorites for automatics in mid December but most will have us finishing third or forth now. Plenty of football to be played, of course. Ludicrous recent form from the Saints. [Post edited 20 Jan 2024 14:29]

Leicester are far too solid at the back, they won't throw away too many games

Do you think Leicester might be Sheff Weds on 14:37 - Jan 20 with 3019 views | Vegtablue | It's comfortably the strongest Championship season ever in respect to the top four. Leicester look much too good on paper and pitch to wobble like that, as others have said. Saints running them close is conceivable, given they're the most dominant team in the league and have been statistically for a decent length of time now, but obviously I hope they hit a slump instead!
Do you think Leicester might be Sheff Weds on 14:42 - Jan 20 with 2975 views | textbackup | Nope, not a chance. We’ve lost a huge points lead, which in all honesty yes is frustrating, but at the same time Dec was bloody tough so not a massive surprise. To finish 3/4/5 in this league, after only just coming up, and having 1 striker (who is now injured) is still a feather in the cap. Bring on wembley

Leicester are totally different and should still win the league, let alone drop into the playoffs.

Yes, we’re 16th in the current 6 game form table. Unfortunately only losing one doesn’t mean a lot in this promotion race, little margin for error. Needed two of Norwich, QPR and Stoke to be wins probably by the time it all shakes out. However, not writing us off yet and playoffs would be a hell of a season.

Tough yes But we dropped points to qpr and norwich ffs. Of all the sides to drop points too in that month.

That draw to ‘them’ done some damage. If we had a decent back up to Hirst we beat QPR… if we want to have a go at top 2 we need two new forwards… Over to the men that matter

So it'd be ok if we beat them both but drew at Middlesbrough and Watford?

Draw on Monday and we will be / infact 1 second after kick off on the line table we will be back into second - Southampton have had some real easy games - we have had tough games and a few with half team out. Not really a drop in form but lack of squad depth which is what the other teams fans said through out - I still think we will be ok - we do need a Marcus Stewart to come in and galvanise though - a marquis signing to get the confidence back in broadhead would be amazing. Our last and 10 games and Southampton’s last 10 are night and day apart so if we can stay close we will have a hell of a chance

I’m just realistic, I think we can win on Monday but come the end of the season we’re likely to draw more than the others.

Me too - I have been going through the season and thinking a draw would be a good result for most games - not pessimistic but realistic but this team has amazed me and the togetherness and some of the play has been amazing. We also always freeze up over Christmas no pun intended but it’s like we are the pablo counago of teams which makes sense as pitches and weather is not great for how we play - get a warm spell in and the players back and we will be ok - just need that striker - amazed no one is looking at lower leagues as we just need some one who can Harry and link up play - don’t need a goal scorer although that would be a bonus

Unfortunately, we have nowhere near the fire power necessary to make a determined bid to get into the automatics. I think we will end the season in 4th or 5th, which would still be a great season. Play offs and anything could happen.

No it's more a case of we gave ourselves a great start to the month. The Leeds Leicester games weren't seen as point takers but qpr and nodge at home were. To lose out on 4 points in those two home games ruined a potentially fantastic December despite it being on paper a really difficult month.

No, it’s the type of team that’s come down. Three established PL clubs. Leicester’s squad would perform pretty well in the Premiership this season IMO.

Think all three relegated sides would be more competitive than Burnley, Sheffield United and even Luton.

Do you think Leicester might be Sheff Weds on 17:00 - Jan 20 with 2286 views | Nthsuffolkblue | This season is different from last. We are more like Plymouth as the unfancied side everyone expects to fall away. Leeds and Southampton are more like Barnsley and Derby but Southampton could easily be more like us of last season. There is no given that any one of us will drop away. And no given that any one of us won't. Get ready for someone finishing third on well over 90 points. Let's hope we pip them to 2nd whoever it is.

Yep let’s start running around bawling ‘we’re doomed’! We are poxy third. Where’s the tissues? Boooo. Or we can take a balanced view. 16 points isn’t too shabby since 1/12. Southamptons fixtures compared to ours? they’ve done brilliantly well. Swansea twice, Plymouth, Cardiff, Norwich, Wednesday, Cov, QPR, Watford and Blackburn. By comparison we’ve had easy meat Watford and Middlesbrough away, Cov, Stoke away, Sunlun, Leicester twice (we are likely to lose Monday but may get something. You never know), QPR, Leeds away and a local derby where they got lucky. The reality is that fixtures have helped a very good Saints side. They’ve not helped us and neither has injuries to our a good number of our best players. It happens. QPR we did well to get a point having a ravaged team just a few days after a truly sapping battle with Leicester. Same with the Stoke game a few days later. We are short up front. We have been all season. But I’d rather go with what we have than compromise ourselves financially going forwards or take a risk on the ‘wrong’ players and wreck the brilliant squad spirit we have. The relegated clubs are very strong at the moment. Nobody is laying a glove on them most of the time. All we need to do is enjoy the ride. Support the players who are giving their all and see where we finish. You are rarely going to win games like we did last year. It’s a long season and we are going well on and off the field. I am really enjoying what McKenna and his players are doing/ trying to do. It’s more realistic in my view than worrying about teams with £80m forward lines and £millions in parachute money.
