I do wonder whether this is a bit of noise coming from Brighton's side to try and push McKenna into making a decision. In the same way other representatives have been pushing alternative messages this last week.

This is my worry, if he wasn't interested in the Brighton job he'd have turned them down by now and they'd have moved on. He's waiting to see what happens at United but I think he's probably going to end up at Brighton, which is very disappointing.

Exactly how I see it, if he wanted to stay rather than go to Brighton, they would have moved on.

Surely if it was noise from the Brighton side it'd be saying they have approached someone else, to try and force McKenna into a decision?

If anything, this feels more like from the agent either trying to push United into a decision quickly or getting Town to up their contract offer.

Yep - to be fair that would make a lot more sense!

United is the major domino to fall here on what happens next I suspect.

He goes down massively in my estimation if he ends up at Brighton, I appreciate it is a slight step up at this moment in time but it's not enough in my book to justify jumping ship. I wonder how the players will feel? Pretty let down like the rest of us I would imagine.

The surprising thing for me is just how many journalists there are spouting exclusives constantly. I know the PL is massive but how does it sustain this many people who have supposedly got so much information.

Also if Brighton are that confident if getting KM this week then why the hell would they want to leak it? Likelier KM’s agents stirring to have one final tilt at getting a deal with Man U or even to stay at Ipswich.

This isn't really news is it? Just regurgitated for clicks.

There's little to no conviction in it at all, of course they are hopeful just like Mark Ashton is hopeful of him staying.

If his team had given a journalist any indication or if it was an agent attempting to push United, the headline would read 'Mckenna ready to take the Brighton role amidst United interest'.

It's not going to be great for morale, given the journey they have been on together but if he wants to go to Brighton we need to go and find McKenna 2.0 or a safe pair of hands who can give us a chance of staying then in the Prem

I can't see this squad being moulded into anything other than the way they play currently so they need to find another progressive manager who can keep going this way

Who that is, I don't know

Could we get a Marco Bielsa, who plays a fairly mad brand of football but has a lot of experience at the top level as well?

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

Bielsa…..he struggles to pronounce us….let alone manage us.

Has this HITC site any credence? All the articles are written by the same cat - a mere meerkat if you look at it a certain way.

I've seen that source mentioned a few times, but is it investigative or just selectively regurgitative, if you catch my drift?

Absolutely.

If this latest stuff is correct, the sooner the better. Tonight if possible. This sorry saga has dragged on far too long to the detriment of my club. And when it comes down to it, I couldn’t care a less if he goes to Brighton or Maidstone United. Not interested.

If he goes, I’ve no doubt he will gut the club of ‘his people’ plus a player or two - fine. Thanks for the two and a bit seasons. Just get on with it so we can move on.

It doesn’t feel like it at the moment, but this club is more important than any individual, including McKenna. As it goes, the key people are actually the owners, Chairman and CEO. They set in motion what the club is post Evans, not McKenna, important though he's of course been..

But before I lose the plot, let’s wait and see what actually happens, including what Ipswich Town have to say, rather than hold to journalists making a living.

Bang on. Once there is a story, they all just parrot the same thing with a slightly different headline ....

The only people who have anything to gain from this information is McKenna's team in putting pressure on United or Ipswich.

Brighton have absolutely nothing to gain, after this last week they will be wanting to minimise the noise to reduce competition.

My thoughts as well. Expect we've already started the recruitment process behind the scenes so at least we'll have his replacement in post quickly. Announcing his departure and his replacement at the same press conference will at least prevent a degree of bed wetting...depending on who replaces him.

What's frustrating is that Brighton approach him well over a week ago. He's strung them (and us) along during a period when we should be getting our ducks in a row and making progressive moves for next season's squad. Instead, we're going to spend early June scrabbling around for a new manager and be behind the 8-ball on recruitment.

I still can't believe it's come to this in the space of three weeks.

You have absolutely no insight into whether any of that is accurate. What is it you think Schwartz has flown over for, just a massive McK leaving do?

Most disappointing aspect of this saga is that Ipswich so far have said NOTHING. They can see all the rumours and speculation flying around on here, yet themselves keep quiet. Last i have heard from them about this is a leading shareholder coming over from America to talk to McKennas representatives. Ashton is also sinking fast in my estimation about him as well, he says we will only tell you once anything is definate, then nothing. Come on MA and ITFC, what the hell is going on ?????

I would understand if he left for Utd, and would wish him well.

If he left for Brighton I would respect what he's done for us, but would resent him for leaving.
