Brighton confident of appointing McKenna this week… on 13:32 - May 27 by NthQldITFC

He told us there would be a lot of noise this summer, and he was right. There's nothing any of can do except bear his wise words in mind every time we get a bit angsty about a situation totally out of our control. Easier said than done maybe, but we are in very good hands, are we not?

Yes. Absolutely. We are and all will be revealed in due course.

As for ‘bed wetting’ this is a forum where people can express their views (within reason) and the majority of contributors are fully aware that there is little substantial information bar rumours, sht stirring by agents and assumptions.

Yes, Ashton is right, but the reality is that given the amount of noise and silence (understandable) from those directly involved, there will be views expressed by people to whom ITFC means something. Supporters do not have a right to know, but in my view they do have the right to comment. They, when all is said and done, are the club.

Pity there’s nothing tangible to comment on.

Written by a hack who appears to publish one article every hour.

As a journalist myself, this isn't possible unless you're simply making garbage up or using ChatGPT. I would rather listen to reputable sources.

Almost like a premonition you mean, as if he knew his agents were going to push his name about.

This is the more likely scenario, not sure about the wise words;)

I know the contract has been on the table to him since the middle of last week. I know that Brighton approached him the week beforehand.

Schwartz has come over to a) try and convince Kieran to stay and b) consider alternatives if he leaves us in the lurch. I thought that much was obvious?

Brighton can afford to wait on McKenna as they have a Premier League squad. But we are going into our biggest season in a generation and can't afford to do ANYTHING half-baked.

A week ago, you said he wasn't going.

Two weeks before that you said we'd taken up the contact extension on Walton.

The week before that you claimed we were signing Yan Dhanda

I think Phil also said there was no contract on the table at this stage

Another load of bet wetting on a journo's article, which is not fact checked and is almost certainly a response to a rumour someone was told by someone else before this guy heard it.

And you lot are taking this one as gospel, again. "HITC understands" ffs.

Get used to this, he is one of the most highly rated coaches in the game, and therefore the most sought after, of course the bookies are installing him as the favourite for every job that comes up, why wouldn't they?

If he doesn't go to any of these three, he'll be linked with every top 15 job in the Prem, every single time.

If he goes to Brighton and does ok they must realise he will be off from them in a year or two.

i still dont see why he doesn't stay here for those two years.

I have no problem with him wanting to progress his career, but the shame is he seems keen on anything PL but Ipswich and is in the runnning for all vacant roles? As others have said if Frank went to Utd or Chelsea, I expect KM would be favourite for that role as well.

By all means go to a "super club" like United or Chelsea (not focusing on how they are run currently) but Brighton seems a needless move and poor from KM. Must mean he really feels we flaked promotion and have no chance of competing this year and therefore his reputation will take a massive hit.

yeah my worry is he feels with us he'll be fighting at the wrong end of the table as opposed to Brighton who certainly won't be...

But surely he sees that this is HIS team and for everything he's done here and the incredible momentum that we still carry, the journey isn't over, Brighton struggled in their first few seasons, one thing is for sure, he won't be loved at Brighton like he is here that's for sure..

He goes down massively in my estimation if he ends up at Brighton, I appreciate it is a slight step up at this moment in time but it's not enough in my book to justify jumping ship. I wonder how the players will feel? Pretty let down like the rest of us I would imagine.

Why won’t they be at the wrong end of the table? They finished 11th last season. Yes, they won three league games from the start of the year plus some good draws but also took some fearful hammerings. There are no certainties other than Man City winning the league, Arse, Liverpiddle in the top three.

They have earned the reputation of being a well run club, but like all beneath the top 6-8, a bad run could take them down with ease. Before Brighton, Leicester were the model and look what happened to them.

"There are no certainties other than Man City winning the league, Arse, Liverpiddle in the top three."

Even they're not certainties. Couldn't be bovvered to search back to find it, but on Saturday I remembered someone on here confidently asserting a day or two earlier that the FAC final would all be a big yawnfest cos Sh1tty were certain to win it.

People need to remember where we wwere predicted to finish last season :)

Looking at the number of uppies on my fairly unremarkable post, i'd say its how quite a lot of us are feeling.

Utd = Fair play, thanks for what you have done and good luck

Brighton = Why? You have tarnished your legacy, let a lot of people down and will not be forgiven by most

Shall we focus on the rumours rather than a) your desperate need for attention on these threads you disagree with so much and b) your sexism?

Just ignore it rather than wanting to come across as a forum snob. It's just a release for many during a frustrating period.

You seem to live for calling people bedwetters. You’re everywhere. There’s very little hyperbole on this thread, in fact it’s rational mostly. This maniacal quest you’re on to shut down reasonable discussion on this is super odd.

The quicker mckenna is Gone the better now. Don't want a manager that has been talking to other clubs and can't agree on several issues I don't want a man that's not loyal ....its like a boyfriend leaving a girl for a better looking one but finds out she's taken or high maintenance .so he only stays with the original one then for the ride lol
