Booing the knee from itfc fans? 18:10 - Oct 20 with 27694 viewsMullet

Was this particularly widespread/loud? This clip seems to pick up one fella or so. Obviously, anyone doing it is an ignorant prick but I’d hope it’s totally isolated.

There were the odd lone voices, but the vast, vast majority of the crowd were not booing and many applauded.

Whether its tokenism or not, booing an anti-racism gesture is pathetic and makes you look like a racist bellend

What do you have against kneeling? The black players on our team don't seem to find it tokenism, that's good enough for me. What right do you have to say that!

Whether you support the gesture or not, why would you boo it? You are booing people taking the knee against racism.

Woah hang on.

I don't agree with tuchel getting the England job. But I like the taking the knee gesture before a game. Its uniting.

You can't link the two things at all.

Do you mind that Kieran McKenna isn't from Ipswich?

Is Remembrance Day tokenism? Is a minutes silence tokenism when a major tragedy has occurred?

I do wonder why taking a knee offends some people….actually I think we all know what type wil get offended by that.

No as this is club football. For Internationals ( aware there various rules surrounding call ups) but you're called up by your country so imo the manager should be to.. that doesn't however mean I'd boo tuchel either btw.

I don't really get your point, Tuchel hasn't managed the German national team. You do realise we have a player who wasn't born in England playing for us, is that ok in your book?

Players like the one you mention. Meet a certain criteria to be able to be selected for a nation. They can then accept or decline. For me the manager should also follow suit. That's not just for our country btw. You mention Germany it should be the same for them and any other country. It just seems odd that you have to meet a certain criteria to be able to play for them but you don't to manage.

It is known that I don't like a German in charge of our National side, but I hope it is also well known that I think any action or words that highlight racism and inequality in life, should be applauded. Linking the two is wrong.

As someone else said your other posts now make a lot more sense.

Even if for some strange reason the act of taking a knee to keep a message of 'no to racism' you find to be 'tokenism' why on earth would you want to boo. It's a few seconds. Booing something that is a good message is so unbelievable daft (or worse of course).

Only players that qualify for England, play for England. Why doesn't that extend to the Manager. The face of English football.
