It would seem that calling a police officer stupid and white is acceptable in today's society..
Imagine the uproar if that particular slur had been used against someone of BAME origin.. think the sentence and certainly reaction to it would have been different

Two tier policing
It's hypocrisy, plain and simple.. if it was to an officer of BAME origin then there would be protests and riots and all sorts.. the reaction would be completely different and the media would be all over it..

There's a slight difference in the historical treatment of white people.
The term was used perjoratively after her or her partner had been sick in the back of a cab and smashed the window whilst they were p155ed and claiming that an officer wouldn't know how they felt at the time because he was 'stupid and white'
To be honest if it comes to being a victim of racism, I'll take being called stupid and white over than what the average non-white person gets lumbered with on an individual and societal level.
I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

'Imagine the uproar if that particular slur had been used against someone of BAME origin.. '
This is about as believable a claim as Donald Trump declaring himself to be a chiristian.

Donald is a regular church goer who has always lived his life by the 10 commandments and any suggestion otherwise merely confirms your membership of the lefty bumfest that Twtd has descended into over recent years.
Don't think anybody comes out of it particularly great but I do think there is close to a zero percent chance that the police man was offended by being called (stupid and) white.

aren't juries great. it did seem a bit of a marginal charge to take. but even though not guilty she doesn't come out of it looking that good - what with the vomit and window breaking and taxi driver abusing and generally privileged star type behaviour.
And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show

His favourite book is the Bible don't you know. I'd like to have asked him what his second favourite book is.

Nah, there's just no need for the "white" reference, in the same way if the roles were reversed there would be no need for a "black" reference.
This utterly smacks of double standards I'm afraid and again does absolutely nothing for equality.

What on earth are you on about?!
To be clear, I'd be equally as disgusted if someone had used the same slur against an officer of BAME origin.. as I've said, the reaction if this was indeed the case would be different and you know it..
The fact that she referenced the ethnicity of the officer is what's wrong.. I'm not racist, I wouldn't use anyone's ethnicity as a slur against them

And I genuinely hope you don't let her racist outburst upset you Jimmy.
Be strong, don't let them win - it's what they want.

If you say so... there would be a completely different reaction if the slur was made to an officer of BAME origin and to suggest otherwise is ignorant to say the least.. the media for one would be all over it

I believe that context is important here. If Sam Kerr is to be believed (as the jury did) then she felt threatened due to the fact that she was trapped in a taxi. And that her heritage led her to feeling scared by this. The context being that the Police Officer couldn’t understand her fear due to the fact that he is white. And rather derogatory ‘stupid’ as well.
If she had insulted him by using racially derogatory language with no mitigating circumstances then the verdict would probably have been different.
That’s my understanding - I could be wrong - but context is key rather than claiming some sort of racist agenda against white people.
