Strangely, the first time my Mum said "well done" to me was also when I got my degree - I was 40 😂 (OU).

R.I.P., bless both of them, parenting was often rather different in those days.

You seem desperate to have a downer on the team today. I didn’t see it, so can’t say whether that’s justified or not. The 23/24 side didn’t play flowing football all the time either. There was a lot of grinding out of results through pure willpower (and fresh legs from a raft of subs). If you make the most of your moments, everyone forgets the less entertaining stuff in between.

The only bit of any merit in three sentences was that the 2023 team were more confident. Of course they were! They had developed into a winning machine. This is still a new team. Will take months to build that belief to those levels.

But we've won 4-1 away. You don't have to be brilliant every week. You just need to be effective.

We played nice football first half against Charlton....we know how that went. We will get the balance. Will take time
