Another reason why we need a manager who will bring young players through the ranks rather than signing on loan players who cannot get in other Championship teams. Wake up Evans and Milne see what is happening in front of your noses......

Worse than our current dire form in the Championship in my opinion is our approach to our yoofs. The only way we might just be able to compete with the likes of Arse and Tottenham is if we have an Academy where yoofs with a bit of intelligence and sensible guidance can appreciate that the right place for their initial and medium-term development is at the ITFC Academy. OK, we may lose them in the end, but by that time at least we would be suitably compensated. We have a world-class director, but still our yoofs do not seem to get the chance to progress. How will we attract good young players if this is perceived to be the case? I suggest we adopt a new philosophy in which we focus maximum effort h into developing a youth set-up we can be proud of and that will eventually, hopefully, provide us with the 50% home-grown headcount we were supposed to be aiming for a while back. If that means the Championship taking a back seat for a while, so be it.

We can write off the play-offs now, so why not give Dozzell a chance in the first team, even the odd substitute appearance? We must make clear to him the advantage of Ipswich is the real chance of first team football, then we need to give him that opportunity. Now seems as good a time as any.

Saw him play all three games out here in Portugal last month, for England U17s, looks a good prospect but still needs to develop imo. Ben Morris impressed me more. If they let him go they must be nuts! After what family have said can see a deal where he goes but is loaned back for a season. Hope not though

As we are now a selling club I see no other option sadly! damn shame that we have 7 or 8 layabouts pretending to be footballers in the 1st team who we wouldn't get the price of a pint for transfer wise.

What would be the point of the Club encouraging supporters to invest in the Academy if any promising youngster is sold. We seem forever doomed to being a Championship club.

It beggars belief really.We have a young lad like this with so much talent and he cannot get into your team.All we can do is flood the midfield with overage clueless players.If both these prem clubs can see something in the lad then why can't MM,or is he just too good for us.IF,we let him go we all might as well give up,as we already lost a young lad to West Ham.And they have the cheek to put season ticket prices.!!

Evans will be delighted. Perhaps some small compensation and another player off the wage bill next season. Cue the money spent on running the club spin etc. Then signings of the calibre of Giles Coke. Then we will be told there is no one better out there. The club really have lost the plot.

As this season is clearly a write-off, we should be giving game time to academy players and future first teamers like Dozzell. Instead of giving contracts to washed up journeymen, we should be giving the kids a go. I will be absolutely fuming if he leaves, what does that say about our clubs philosophy?

no surprise there, Mick cant see any further than his nose.We have an academy bringing players along , THEN, they get shipped out. With MM,and ME its a lost cause.

If any offer for Dozzell was accepted then it'd be the final nail in the coffin for me. McCarthy, Milne, Evans etc keep hiding behind FFP and pushing for Category 1 academy as the long term strategy so selling one of our best prospects would make no sense whatsoever. We never reinvest the money anyway so absolutely no need to sell anyone.

We may not need the Frazer and Miles type people next year.........What a difference Bishop and MCGoldrick and fully fit Bru would have made this season........with a Dozzell and Feeney on the books plus Pringle we may just see some of the old Ipswich entertainment back.......fingers crossed and hope a pray

Like a lot of others on here I too am extremely disappointed with recent results, however I think most of you are missing the point.

Surely we should be happy that top clubs are showing interest in our young talent, that means they're showing promise and are going in the right direction with their early career. Yet you all seem to be immediately jumping on MM or the club's back when they haven't stated any intention whatsoever that they might sell.

For all we know the story could just be paper talk or agents feeding guff to journalists for their own agenda. Calm down folks, I'll be the first in line to lambast the club if we do sell Dozzell Jr., his dad was one of my favourite players as a kid, but we are nowhere near that point yet.

Do we get much choice if they want him? I was of the understanding that category 1 academies could pick a youth player up from a lower category team for a low compensation fee of about £100k without much fighting off?

Bring in moggy and Venus and get us playing through the team andre has a place with us

he will just be one of 40 odd youngsters at one of the big four PL teams academies trying to break into their first teams with little success, if you look at the 1st team squads of any if them there isn't many players who are english who came through the academies so better off at ipswich where surely he will have a better chance of playing regularly in the first team possibly as early as next season

is it a case of letting him go? before he signs his pro deal, he can sign for anyone he likes can't he? i think i remember a similar worry over bowditch...
