In this longer version of the video, you can see the woman apparently posing no immediate threat as she passes behind Mark Field. He marches her out of the room by her neck. I wasn’t there, so I can’t say she didn’t pose a risk, but it looks heavy handed. pic.twitter.com/zX2BtcPW4t

You never frequented the Kingfisher then? Imagine gate crashing a function there 30 years ago.
You have low expectations of your MPs behaviour if you're comparing them to the kind of oik that drinks in there.
I mean, FFS, that's Sitters local!

..."the kind of oik that drinks in there"
What do you mean?
The kind that assaults people who they don't want in there.
That's what Ballycastle was suggesting anyway.

...Ah, I see...sorry.....you just perpetuated the stereotype as he didn't use the word "oik"...you added it.
I'm from there. I can use whatever term I like when I'm talking about my people, thanks.

I've long said, that if you're not Chantry, then you're not really Ipswich.
That's just a fact!
And btw, it is difficult to not feel superior when faced with such wonky and liberal ellipsis us!

I'm sure if she run onto the pitch at Portman Road, been rugby tackled and then escorted off by a posse of stewards that those protesting on this thread would be cheering.
His actions stopped a situation developing that would have lead to a long delay. If you set out to undertake an illegal act you face the consequences, perhaps she feels just a little less entitled now.
Incidentally his fingers were not around her neck, his hand was on her shoulder, his other hand on her arm.
Had he intercepted a male protester in the same fashion he would probably have been praised. Equality works both ways..

Illegal act? What she did was illegal was it? Has she been arrested?

..the above was edited to get rid of the semi-colon in you're in the first line.
This isn't catchphrase Sir, and I'm no Roy Walker, nobody will be praising you for saying what you see around these parts.

You missed out an 'e' in 'use' also.
Don't worry though, I don't believe it makes me better than you. Mainly as I don't use it as a last resort to feel superior to others....either on here....in Chantry....or anywhere.
Anyway, this has been really great but I'm off to work.

I'll have a veggie deluxe please, hold the mayo.
Removing the only thing with flavour seems madness.
Please note: prior to hitting the post button, I've double checked for anything that could be construed as "Anti Semitic" and to the best of my knowledge it isn't. Anything deemed to be of a Xenophobic nature is therefore purely accidental or down to your own misconstruing.

In context - people have been killed after attackers simply drove or walked up and mowed down or knifed innocent bystanders.
That moment of fear - when you're suddenly presented with an intruder whose intent, weapon concealment & capacity to harm you simply don't know.
Most people have no idea how they'd react in the circumstances, having luckily never been in that kind of scenario.
Had she been carrying a concealed knife or gun & found out later to be a member of some terrorist org., or a deranged individual, everyone would be patting Field on the back and saying "well done", "brave" etc.
Having said that, it would have made more sense & been safer to pin her wrists behind her back & march her out than to "scruff" her (looks like he's a dog owner, because that's the standard way of dealing with a badly behaved one!).
And as has been said, nobody now is really talking about the content of the speech, ie carbon reduction aims/climate change.
Oh get real Ryorry, this is Greenpeace, not the Football Lads Alliance. Everyone at Mansion House knew they were in no more danger than being late home and having to pay the baby sitter for an extra half hour.
Having seen yet again on the telly,it was probably over the top to actually push her against the pillar but he did not manhandle her he marched her out with a hand on her arm and on the back of her neck. What’s more to the point is how a bunch of women got into a room full of senior politicians in this current security state! They could actually been anyone intent on all sorts of mischief! The security in the mansion house as well as the personal protection officers have got quite a lot to answer for. Of course if she had not put herself at risk by trying to get on the stage then obviously this would not have happened so she must take some of the blame for putting herself in that situation.

Would it be okay if it had been a man?
Yes. Of course it is.
It’s the way he grabs her. That’s not how you grab a woman. If it’s a bloke, that’s fine in my eyes. But not a woman. Whilst it isn’t the same thing, last week on the tube back to Marylebone going back to uni some bloke got on and looked at me as if I should stand up for him. He was probably 30 ish. Two stops later a woman on the same sort of age got on and I gave her my seat. It’s just how it should be in my opinion. Likewise, I’ll carry the bags of my best mate when I’m with her. I wouldn’t with my boy mates unless they actually needed a hand. Because men towards women and men towards men is a different scenario. That’s just how it is in my opinion - right or wrong in 2019 who cares.
Albeit I don’t think she can have any complaints for gatecrashing the thing.
I haven’t read the thread so I’m sorry if this has been answered.

I disagree.
People should keep their hands to themselves. Doesn't matter if the target of your abuse is male or female. Peaceful protest certainly shouldn't be met with force.
As for giving up your seat, if I had to give up my seat for every able bodied woman standing on the train I'd never sit down. Elderly or, pregnant, carrying a baby or disabled they'd get my seat. Everyone else is to be treated equally, and everyone else can fend for themselves.
I also know multiple women who would think it weird if I suggested I carried their bags as if they weren't able. Being a woman isn't a disability and many women wouldn't appreciate the white knighting, however well intentioned it is.
