You'll often find teams have some obscure youth player who is also in the GB youth sprint team etc
We were rumoured to be trialling some West Ham youth I think who was meant to be the fastest dribbler in the Prem a while back? Phil can confirm or deny that

Kieron was very quick and Beat was also exceptional, although I'm too young to remember him at his peak. But I'm not sure I've seen anyone quicker than Danny Haynes, even if Jackson is also v fast.
Oh, and Finidi was also very, very fast but had probably lost a bit ot that pace by the time he was here.
Was also once told Richard Naylor was one of the swiftest during his time here by one of the staff, which might be seen as a surprise.

I remember the away game at Arsenal towards the end of 2001/2 and Finidi absolutely burning everyone up down the right before crossing for Reuser to hit the post, and thinking "where the hell has that been?". He was certainly rapid but we only saw it in spurts.

Don’t know if he was on trial but we were definitely linked with some youth player on the books at West Ham who was apparently the fastest footballer in Britain. 3 or 4 summers back, name escapes me.

I was trying to think off him. He broke his leag agaisnt Man United, he had andrei kanchelskis in his back pocket and looked quicker!
There’s a lovely story about one of the draws we had at Old Trafford in which Kanchelskis refused to accept that he couldn’t outpace Whelan and kept either running balls out behind the goal or overhitting crosses while his team-mates were going nuts at him for not passing or holding the ball up.

I've always wondered who had the hardest shot. Some say Ted Phillips but I never saw him play. I saw Dalian Atkinson play and his shot was awseome.
Hard to compare as the ball are so lightweight now but you would not believe how hard Ted Phillips could wack the old leather ball on a rain soaked pitch.
