How are you planning on seeing in our imminent EU departure tomorrow night? Think I'll just have an early night and make sure I am not watching any current affairs / news programs.
So classic head in sand approach for me. You guys?

Well that's down to us and the government we elect. We now set our own standards. Well, after the transition period. It remains to be seen how much of a poodle Johnson will be. So far we have not banished Huawei from our 5G network construction, to the chagrin of the American administration.

This is the world we're living in now. This will likely colour our future dealings with the US to the likely extent that we'll be forced to bend over and take it to say sorry to Trumpy-Wumpy.
But we'll have blue passports and no foreigners.
I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

I trust the DJ will be playing only music by British bands played on British instruments
No guitars. We had those from the arabs, along with bagpipes, violins and a number of woodwind instruments. Pianos were an Italian invention. Bit stuffed, really.
And half our great classical composers were German.

Again i share your concerns, but in my opinion, the bending is not anything to do with the eu, for it has existed for years already.
There is also the chance that Trump will have lost the presidency just as we leave the transition period, but i see nothing to suggest he won't win a second term.

Plus, the people doing the negotiating are the ones who've been making such a competent job of it so far.

I'll be watching these guys at the Smokehouse and trying to care as little as possible about Brexit. It's done, it will be a sh1tshow, but we ain't changing it now so I've just started ignoring it.

I'm doing something similar. Have a friend coming down from Manchester to visit, going out for some food. He's actually a Leaver, but not the kind to crow about it.
