Trump just suggested injecting disinfectant and UV light into the body on 08:13 - Apr 24 by itfcjoe
He doesn't listen to anything, or read anything - not anything of note I mean.
Story today in the NYT which says his daily activity is to sit and watch TV all morning, come into the WhiteHouse at lunch, not prepare for his briefing, stand up and do it, go home watch himself back on TV, have dinner, watch more TV then go to bed.
You know, for a bloke who is supposedly teetotal, he doesn't half come across as completely p1ssed much of the time - both in what he says and how he delivers it. About all that's missing is the slurring and the maudlin bits.

Ever actually done any research on Vaccines Ewan? Ever read an insert, looked at the ingredients, read a study perhaps? Or are you just like most people and find it far easier to read what the media tell you and repeat it? It's so easy to throw around terms like 'anti-vaxxer' in ignorance and gain the approval of the heard isn't it.
My joke was aimed at Trump.
I have done research into the effectiveness and adverse impacts of vaccines, mainly when we were debating whether to let our children have the various vaccines that are on the UK immunisation schedule for school age children. There are an awful lot of vaccines available for UK children and we looked at each one at the time our children were due to have them. In each case we took advice from medical professionals and alternative therapy practictioners that we know, looked on the internet for what we could find, assessed as best we could the health of our children at the time the vaccines were due and made our decisions accordingly. The overwhelming weight of evidence, given what we found out and the health of our children at the time, indicated that we should allow vaccination to occur in all cases. We appreciated that there was evidence showing the harm that vaccines could potentially do - and assessing what to do with MMR vaccine took a lot of time to conclude (surprisingly enough Private Eye was a good source of info on Wakefield and his claims) - but in our view it was, for us, always the right thing to do. And we appreciated that other families came to different conclusions, say because their children were immuno-compromised, or had a history of adverse reactions from previous vaccinations, or strongly believe that animal and human products should not be used and they live their whole life that way. I reserve the term "anti-vaxxers" not for those people, but instead for those who refuse to vaccinate for religious reasons, or they think it's a Government plot, or they think their bodies are sovereign above all else or even just because something bad might happen...those are the people to whom I think Trump would be worried about offending, as they are his constituency, and it is those people I would refer to as "anti-vaxxers". I have read your posts on this subject and I understand you have a personal interest in this which I fully appreciate but I believe this might very possibly be the first time I have actually used that term - and I did so solely in the context of President Trump's comments.
You are the obsolete SRN4 to my Fairey Rotodyne....
In his letter, Mark Grenon told Trump that chlorine dioxide — a powerful bleach used in industrial processes such as textile manufacturing that can have fatal side-effects when drunk — is “a wonderful detox that can kill 99% of the pathogens in the body”. He added that it “can rid the body of Covid-19”.

I wonder if he is anything to do with this lot who were called out last year:

Nothing to do with this thread but may I ask that you check your PMs?

It’s incredibly worrying.
Discredit the media and you instantly avoid all scrutiny.
Even more worrying is seeing several relatively sensible posters on here lapping up the government’s account.
It’s not a case of “lapping up the government’s account”.
I’ve always put my faith in the government, no matter which political persuasion, endeavours to do it’s best for the people of the country. I haven’t seen anything to make me change my mind during this crisis.
We live in a free and open democracy. The minutes if SAGE will be published in due course and everything I’ve heard when watching the likes of Whitty during the select committee meetings confirms that they are giving best advice from a consensus opinion and that the government are acting in that advice.
If they didn’t act on that advice then they should be brought to task for it. And I don’t believe that people like Whitty and Valance would put their professional reputations on the line on the say so of somebody like Dominic Cummings.
We can’t have people spending the last couple of years saying that the expert advice has been ignored and then the exact opposite when the advice doesn’t suit a particular point of view.
As for the point regarding the public’s trust in the media. I think our press have been too keen to look for a gotcha story rather than ask genuine sensible questions. This is reflected in a recent YouGov survey.
Edit. Ignore the first poll I can’t seem to link the second without the first one showing.

The weird thing about that poll is that not everyone trusts the NHS.

Sorry GB- but the way Cummings and this government treat issues such as transparency, integrity and ministerial responsibility- along with the manner in which they use the Trump "front it out and mock obviously reasonable challenges" approach....
Means that it is no longer reaosnable to put faith in these institutions and this government.
The presence of those seeking the truth is infinitely to be preferred to the presence of those who think they've found it.

Well I still do over issues of life and death and I think the shoddy Times story that unravelled within hours, the story that claimed the NHS was behind hundreds of fake Twitter accounts and Peston’s “gottcha” of Gove which he retracted the next day shows why the media isn’t trusted over this issue.
