It's not a right, left, centre, up or even down issue. It's an issue of rules, fairness and risk and I think the general public from all quarters care a lot about it.
He's a disgrace, he should never have been anywhere near the government in the first place and this should have been the act which made it untenable for him to continue to be there. Instead we have Boris acting like a lovesick teen making excuses for their wayward girlfriend and saying it's fine for them to do it just not everyone else as the rules are open to interpretation.
There are thousands of people across the country who haven't seen sick and dying relatives due to respect for the rules and their moral obligation not to increase the risk of the spread of C19. The rules at the time were clear, a child could understand them, yet he broke them wilfully and without regard to others.
How can Boris stand up and tell people not to see their families now?
