Why when you are talking about journalism are you putting the word proper in inverted quotes?
‘Proper’ journalists as you put it, go to university for three years where they are taught to verify and then double check their sources in order to prevent baseless rumours entering the mainstream.
Most ‘proper’ journalists are very very professional and do things the right way, sadly all these ITK accounts get off on calling themselves journalists, when they are nothing of the sort, which is the crux of this post, unsubstantiated unchecked rumours being treated, by some, as fact, although I appreciate this wasn’t what CM was doing here. |  |

His first on the turn on the half volley was the best. It was probably the best he scored for us. Sheer class. Although both were excellent finishes and that was a cracking match. The first leg tends to be overshadowed by the second, but without the never say die spirit we’d not have been in a position to challenge in the second leg. It looked as though it wasn’t going to be our time again after going 2 down and losing a couple of players to injury. But cometh the hour, cometh the man and all that. Wouldn’t it be great to have a bit of that spirit and quality now. Ah, TWTD. |  |

I did say it but it is slightly out of context. I said that that was why he was getting grief in another thread. Obviously discussing rumours is very much the forum's stock in trade. The ITK Twitter accounts with seven followers linking with player X and Y are what I was on about. |
I would also add though that laughing at such ridiculous rumours and twitter pages is also quite fun so if he wants to put his name too these ridiculous "links" then he becomes fair game for a razz up! |  |
