Whilst Ashton has a point that blabbing about potential transfers does the club no good, his approach to this topic is very much the thin end of a consistent Ashton wedge. He believes local press should be the mouthpiece of the club and on message at all times. Failure to comply - fully - results in media outlets being cut off.
