Much as I'm fairly relaxed about Town right now, we really do need to learn not to judge people by their words but by whether or not they deliver.

People have to give them a reasonable timeframe to deliver though. And that isn't two games. A few people booing last night is utterly ridiculous.

Yes, "supporters".
Some (a few) people doesn´t seem to know what supporting is any more, and the understanding of the game is very low. A couple of bad results, then it´s "manager out", "the owners strategy isn´t working".
Some guy just wrote on the facebook page "same old nonsense coming from the happy clappers, we'll be bottom and you will still be telling us we are wrong. Its Hurst all over again, mark my words. "...I mean, what a ray of sunshine. How can you NOT see the difference between the dross Hurst put together and the team we are assembling now.

He has, but he decided that the players who were here already were not up to the job and has got rid of them all bar a few.

It is a brand new team, his team and we are 1 league game into a season with players still arriving.

He has a completely clean slate and half a season to bed the team in.

I expect us to be around the top 6 by Xmas and if we are at the bottom then I guess he may be in big trouble, but I don’t expect that to be the case.

Just get behind the team for now and leave the moaning posts for 4 months

I'm not moaning. Most of the moaning on here today is from those moaning about perceived negativity, when in fact there's hardly been any.

Excuse me but the bloke came in last season and was staggeringly and disastrously inept. I doubt there has been a worse display of man management in the club's history. Even the merest hint of a dead cat bounce would have seen the club in the play offs - instead he chose to alienate the entire squad and ended up managing a new club Ipswich Town Nil.

IF Cook was one of his own players he'd have been sold cut-price to Colchester, based on what we have seen so far. So excuse me if I neither like the bloke and am a little bit suspicious that a leopard will not change his spots and suddenly becomes a half decent man manager.

Being suspiciious of such a weak manager cobbling together a new team that is currently no better than what he inherited - and tossed away isn't depressing - just common sense.

I understand where you're coming from but he's proven at this level elsewhere - I concur his man-management last season was painful and cringey - we've lost some good players because of it too but if he delivers this season it will be deemed the right call.

Who have we lost who we would have otherwise have kept due to his man management? Arguably Edwards because we offered him a contract? Downes wanted to go last summer, Dozzell had a release clause in his contract, we released the likes of Chambers, Sears, Skuse and Wilson. So whilst I agree some of his reactions to matches last season left a lot to be desired I don’t think he can be blamed for players leaving - he pushed most of them out himself.

So you’d rather he treated water getting the best out of a group not good enough to actually gain promotion just to what? Waste this season finishing 8th with the same group that should be finishing 12th that his man management managed to drag up a few meaningless places?

I’d rather he identified that they weren’t getting the club out of this division and identified ones that would be. Into the deal, ridding the club of the awful culture and creating a new one.

'he chose to alienate the entire squad'

By how? By asking those slackers who had been stealing a living at ITFC for years to work harder on the training pitch?

The state of some 'fans'.

I don’t think anybody is celebrating drawing with Morecambe and losing to Newport.

Simply accepting that it’s an entirely new team and system and culture and that we’ve played very well in large periods of both games, played attractive football and, with the CEO, manager and squad we now have, we have every reason to expect a good / successful season.

It’s acceptable to be disappointed with the first two games and understanding of why it’s not ‘happened’ yet.

I think they probably class themselves as minnows, which is why they were so happy to come away with a point.

We had been struggling against the number of 'minnows' in this league in the past two seasons but the easiest option for large number of our fans was the blame the manager. He was 100% at fault in the eyes of some while the players were indulged and treated like angels. That shower who had shown no drive to avoid relegation and finished 11th and 9th in this league.

This is almost an entire new team so it's beyond ridiculous to be criticising them after one league game.

Our record against the minnows in this league was actually pretty good under Lambert, it was the top 8-9 we couldn't get a result against.
