And that's the problem right there, don't let that happen to you. There should be open revolt on the streets at what is happening in this country — and in countries with better social and political education there would be.

It's almost as if they want to keep people ignorant of what they're doing. But no, that's just silly talk.

Rules are for the little people on 16:09 - Nov 3 with 1589 views | Steve_M | Corruption is overused in politics but this is exactly what this is. It was Hamilton, Aitkin and Archer that made the Tories unelectable for a decade and this is a straight up repeat of those low standards. At least then Ministers used to resign.

I still think it's outrageous that any sitting MP can be on a board of directors/consultant to a private company. If done properly, being an MP is a very demanding job, but many of them are simply there to lobby on behalf of private interests, rather than their constituents, it would seem.

I've written to Mr Hunt to ask for his rationale.

And had he been subject to a recall petition due to his suspension, the Tories have a 20k majority in his seat so it's not as if they would have risked a defeat.

Dr Poulter doesn't reply to anything I send - I've only written to him about Cummings affair, then 2 times (and chased) about genuine constituency matters - but since Cummings where I got the C+P reply I must be on some do not respond list

Presumably the response will be something along the lines of: "Rules are for woke cultural marxists. Drink your libtard tears." [Post edited 3 Nov 2021 16:24]

They're basically the Tories but offer a few more sops to appear 'progressive'. They also have no policies which is a bit of a disadvantage for a political party when asking people to vote for them. Good to see the Greens polling well though.

Seems reasonable to ask an MP that voted for this, are they currently also involved in similar activity.

This is a superb idea. We should flood the Inbox every MP who voted for this with the question: "How many activities that would fall foul of an independent inquiry are you involved in personally?" Their actions have made it abundantly clear for all to see that they do not care about corruption. The big question is, do enough of the electorate care?
