My first Ipswich Team 09:14 - Jan 20 with 8881 viewsBlacknGoldnBlue

Thought it would be interesting to list the first Ipswich Team you watched live in person! If you want to say when and who against you can or you can just leave it and see if others can work out when you saw them!

Laurie Sivell
Terry Butcher
Mick Mills
Russell Osman
John Wark
George Burley
Steve McCall
Arnold Mühren
Paul Mariner
Alan Brazil
Kevin O'Callaghan

Mills & Brazil scored! Ipswich won under the floodlights!

Home to QPR, lost 3-1?

Gavin Johnson rather than Williams, presumably.

Indeed!
And yes, Gavin Johnson

Ray Wilkins got all 3 assists I think that day.

Mine should definitely be guessable as it is very recent (I actually followed Ipswich for five years before I ever went to a match, because I only started properly following them at the beginning of the season of this match).

Will Norris
Janoi Donacien
Luke Woolfenden
James Wilson
Luke Garbutt
Flynn Downes
Andre Dozzell
Jon Nolan
Gwion Edwards
Alan Judge
Will Keane

Same i cant find the team sheet.

We won 3-1 at home to Brighton in 1992. Whitton got two and cant remember who go the 3rd. We had nearly or just won the league by then.

I think we had gained promotion the week before at Oxford; I was there of course.
Fellow called Magilton playing for Ozford.

The Brighton game was really just a light-hearted celebration.

Paul Goddard also chipped in with a valuable contribution.

Romeo Zondervan played a decent number of games as well IIRC.

I'm convinced when I was a kid, it was watching us beat Wolves with Mathie scoring a hat trick, I may be well off though, was definitely late 90's if so...

Found it - March'98 - 3-0 town win

I did look, but we didn't have a 0-0 with Derby during Uhlenbeek's time at the club. There was a 1-0 home win in April '96 (famous for Tony Vaughan's cash-inspired goal celebration).

I remember my Dad had built me a stool to stand on so I could see the pitch.

You did well to carry on watching us after that lot!

Brekke-Skard didn't make that many appearances did he?

I can only guess that we would have been soundly beaten by Portsmouth, Bournemouth or Southampton from your clue.

Last games for Supple, Casement and Brekke-Skard?
