I like Stokie but he was getting increasingly wound up in several of his recent posts, hopefully a break and he'll be back.
Despite the best efforts of Phil and Gav there is an undercurrent of fractiousness and tedium about a bit too much of the board these days. IN my opinion, it would help if people could park historical grievances and ignores those they consistently disagree with and not repeat the same things all the bloody time.
Thats a big, but very sensible ask. I only know 3 people personally on this whole board ( maybe others but don't know their usernames), and i never hear any of the grievances on here aired in, for example, a pub post match. This site has become, like the net' in general, a safe space for spouting off about all manner of issues that people carry with them, and to have a dig at others. Tiresome a lot of the time, comical in others, and though I only click on a post that looks interesting to me, the same names seem to be in EVERY thread, regardless of what the OP was about! Only promotion can halt this!
Why the hell people take this place so seriously that they feel the need to take a break or deactivate their accounts I do not know.
Play along nicely children.
I guess if someone has been on the same forum for years, build up relationships with different posters and possibly see them in real life as well. Then this place becomes more than a forum.

You are the obsolete SRN4 to my Fairey Rotodyne....

I've lost count of the number of people I've met from here. To all those, I can only apologise.
Quite! and I'm afraid I'm guilty too, but to his credit Facters does take it in good part, tho it must get irritating at times. Same applies to J2 and a certain oval foodstuff.
Wkj is the shock tho, didn't see that coming - anyone know what happened? Enjoyed his contributions & will miss him.
If he's irritated by ageism I can tell you that as someone a few years older than Facters it makes me feel almost antique, never mind old.

I’ve always found that baffling too.
I thought my age and younger were meant to be the snowflake generation but so many people much older than me take this forum so seriously and get in a strop so easily its ridiculous. And I say that as someone who likes a lot of the posters who left recently
My hobbies include being quiet during trips, clapping with songs, and diabetes.
In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Some ppl are known to others irl who may not be members of this forum, but who do read it and know their usernames. Therefore the made up defamatory comments some resort to are never going to go down well.
Poor show that. We’ve lost quite a few people on here lately it seems for various reasons.
Many such cases. COVID and to a much lesser extent late-Banter Era has driven some mad.

I may have missed this being mentioned already but wkj and footers have also gone. I understand we all have people that rub us up the wrong way from time to time but I enjoyed the contributions of all three. That doesn't mean seeing absolute eye to eye on things. That said, I have found that taking a break from here can help so I wish them well and hopefully they will be back at some point, enjoying posting again.
I think it is a real shame when fellow ITFC supporters feel they have to leave what is primarily an Ipswich Town supporters forum.
People today (our Prime Minister included) seem to lack the skill of disagreeing with another opinion without being disagreeable.
I'm particularly sorry to see Footers has gone. He did a great job in organising the TWTD Christmas Charity collections over the last two years. I was so pleased when he took on my suggestion that we give to Ipswich FIND and I know all at FIND were very grateful. This world (and TWTD) needs people like that whether or not we agree with their politics.
Have been noticing lately that there has been a certain amount of goading of posters by others, even if they haven't contributed to the actual topic. I only use the website on my laptop and i don't do Faceache, Tvvatter etc, so have i been missing the broader picture?
