The holiday thread a day or so back has got me thinking of long lazy sunny days on glorious swathes of sand (or pebbles ). Xi beach on Kefalonia, red sand and warm shallow sea. A few tavernas selling cold Mythos beer is probably mine. Bliss. Where are yours.
We have no village green, or a shop.
It's very, very quiet.
I can walk to the pub.

To the north there is the rugged beauty of the pebbly nudist beach and Lighthouse Cafe.
Then we have the fine golden sands around the two piers. Freshley fried doughnuts, penny waterfalls and a convenient place to score scag. Sand perfect for building sandcastles and digging holes to China. Also good for lugworm hunting after a decent smattering of rain.
Up the coast towards Pakefield and Kessingland there be dunes and many fossils to be found. Including some of the residents.

Not quite the same thing, but most of Suffolk’s coast. I really like walking from Landguard Fort to Felixstowe Ferry. Between Shingle Street and Orford and just inland is an eerie treat.

Sounds close to perfect, fresh real doughnuts, sandcastles, slot machines and easy access to smack. The local tourist board really as thought of everything.
Streedagh beech co sligo is pretty stunning, 3 Spanish armada shipwrecks located just off Coast there as well. No doughnuts, chipper, smack etc though

Although to be honest, you're doing something spectacularly wrong if you manage to find a bad beach on the North Cornish coast / round to Praa.
Even Fistral beach itself is nice - if somewhat crowded and expensive at the height of the season, but that's a by-product of the town. The beach itself is nice enough.
Dunwich beach on a hot day is incredible. Never seems to get ridiculously crowded, unless I've just been lucky. Great fish and chips too, although being loomed over by sizewell is a bit spooky
Tenby, Saundersfoot and Manorbier - all in Pembrokeshire.
Good shout, but you missed Broad Haven South, which is the most beautiful beach I have even seen. And with the equally beautiful Lilly ponds behind, which is a magical walk. Pembrokeshire is Cornwall, but without the hoards of tourists.

Southwold 40ish years ago. Used to love getting the rowing-boat ferry across the harbour and walking down to Dunwich, or the bus up to Kessingland and walking down past Covehithe.
Depends on the situation. Shingle Street for the ambience in winter. Aldeburgh for a swim in the summer with the mates. Brancaster as an all rounder, good for a walk out to the shipwreck.
