I’m not sure I can think of a single thing that hasn’t improved / isn’t lined up to be improved in the near future (pitch etc.). Shows how far we’ve come that I can’t think of anything!

Is there anything on 13:47 - Apr 3 by Freddies_Ears | Aspall is the watered-down 4.5% version now. No cask ale in the Fanzone, and no decent bottled option either. Pies are more variable in quality - I have had a couple of chicken Balti that had zero meat... The football is far better though, & the stadium environment also a big improvement. |
Oh, that reminds me of another thing that's not as good now... the removal of the very good 'Pie and Pint' deal with the larger Portman Pies in Beatties for £6.50. Very good value and quality.

Is there anything on 10:02 - Apr 3 by J2BLUE | I'm pleased they have absolutely exposed Evans as the shocking owner he was. To think some people (a very small minority) didn't want the sale to go through in case the new owners were bad! Just to be clear I am not suggesting Evans has the financial muscle to do all the things GC are doing/planning but he did virtually none of it. The Evans era was the slowly boiled frog analogy in real life. Norwich fans could not have planned our systematic decline as brilliantly as Evans managed. To do that for over a decade inching us further and further down was actually impressive. |
I genuinely think that, under Evans, we would, after more years of neglect, have found ourselves, one season, fighting against a drop into the forth tier. Six commas in one sentence there. New record for me.

For years I and others said he should sell and some on here protested loudly about to who, you buy it then, he puts loads of money in etc etc Strangely many of those people have gone quiet now.

Says a lot that the government was (marginally) better during the majority of Evans’ time than it is now.

I could go down in that group potentially, there was always a real danger that we could have just gone kaput overnight if the wrong person bought us, as opposed to the slow strangulation under Evans. I don't think it was unreasonable to be nervous about any potential buyout but it appears we got very, very lucky with who we got. I won't lie, the state and condition we were in I did find it hard to believe that anybody would want to make a considerable investment, which made me nervous we'd get some wide boy who didn't actually have what he said he did, as we have seen elsewhere countless times. Probably the best thing ME ever did for us is selling us to who he did.

Nope. That was 2005 I think. Evans might have won an award for stinkiest toilets or the amount of mould you can attach to a stand roof, but I think that’s your lot. [Post edited 3 Apr 2023 16:34]

Is there anything on 16:12 - Apr 3 with 945 views | Sharkey | The number of home-grown players/local boys in and around the first team is not what it was two years ago. (Especially in midfield, there were a lot of local lads.) Don't get me wrong, I'm not for a moment suggesting the new players aren't an upgrade, just that when scraping around for negatives that's a possible one, -- and I'm sure the hope will be that in the future there will be more. It's difficult to say if the U21s or U18s are actually better than they were two years ago, or more likely to produce players who'll grace the first team. The higher up the tree one is, the more difficult it becomes. That's why the signing of Harry Clarke perhaps felt doubly welcome.

I think that's the one thing that has potentially gone backwards - the catering. Even if the service was rubbish, the food in particular was good quality and reasonably priced. One of the first things that GC/MA did when they came in was adjust the setup to be more reflective of the captive audience. I get the commercial reasoning behind why it's been done, but it's a bit of a shame given how it was before.

I'll swap you a comma for a letter 'u' as you can then spell 'fourth' correctly.

I think that was more to do with Evans’ cheap way out, as opposed to a genuine youth strategy. Plus we’ve got Woolf and Humphreys, who in my opinion are two of the best we’ve seen i years. Apart from Downes I suppose.

Not only that but it closes at 2:30 now! Why on earth would they shut a bar early which only opens once a fortnight. Really surprised that they don’t try and maximise revenue here.

Can’t move in the fanzone for club legends. Players too busy doing stuff with the Foundation to keep local drinking hostelries afloat. Club is going to the dogs. |
I would agree that the standard of staff at the concessions is less than good but cannot complain about obtaining tickets. Will assume the remainder of your comments are tongue in cheek
