Farting in the TV studios/podcasts' seats is probably the only way for him right now.

You'll be happy to spend your money on that book. I won't even spend a penny.

I expect nothing from you, except to die and be a very cheap funeral.

Ha, I’m always telling myself to let it go and that he’s gone but I have to defend him

You feel you have to defend him. Absolutely fine.

Best manager we had under Evans....... correct if you look at the tables' positions.

His attitude wasn't nice though to say the least.

And he nearly relegated us but for the Lawrence's wonders and Bialkowski's amazing saves.

That's kind of my point, we would have been relegated sooner if not for his squad, ugly as it may be. Im not a super fan of Mick and I will always be bitter about the Luton games, but to get my panties in a twist about much more seems silly. My biscuits belong at the disco my friend, not at the corn exchange on a sh*tty salsa evening.

2017/18 .... we finished just only 4 points above the drop zone.

We have the different feelings about him.

I saw Mach at Huddersfield. He was in fine fettle.

Predicted the right bloody score as well.

"They’ve got a really good budget in League One, they’ve got it in the Championship"

That's from Phils take and what I felt I'd heard.

It's not a massive thing so I don't wanna derail this thread. But I just personally dont see it as a lovely positive comment when it's countered by that budget talk.

But it's pure and utter personal opinion, so happy to be solo on this.

It's not tho is it.

Our budget in league one was one of the biggest.

It certainly isn't in the championship. So no its not.

He says something in between "got" and "in" which is probably 'it'. He definitely doesn't say "they've got in the championship"

Depends how you measure it to be honest. Middling in terms of what we've spent on fees but top 6 on net spend as we've not sold anyone. Wages I imagine we're fairly middle of the pack, in League 1 we were out competing Championship sides on wages for some of our signings.

Well yes, but if we're saying could KM manager under Evans, then it all depends in what season are we imagining this takes place?

The season he gave Magilton, Keane etc money to burn?
the years after where whilst it wasn't highly competitive, it was still enabled us to offer some attractive wages to some players.. or just the latter years that Mick had?

At the moment, KM is working with a team he put together in league one, players who potentially he could have identified under Evans ownership. we'll never know

But, IMO back to the point within this thread, I feel if you compliment a manager there is no need to mention budgets, because you're countering that compliment.

You don’t help yourself do you?

You take issue with McCarthy mentioning budgets when talking about McKenna’s success, yet when asked if you think McKenna would have been as successful under Evans the VERY first factor you mention is available budget!!

I’m sure you’ll now go on for four more pages explaining why that wasn’t what you meant and how the two things are completely different….

Ipswich 0-3 Hull ....followed by his hysterical meltdown on the pitch after the game.

Ipswich 3-0 Hull last Tuesday night and the players making us proud.

I prefer last Tuesday night. His lovers will stick up for him and that meltdown.

No need to take it on more for more pages no.

I was clearly asking what period under Evans would we be using in the hypothetical situation. In fairness to you I can see why you'd have your point and that's fair.

So basically half the board is split in what they heard MicMac say, but poor old acrimony has gotten dogs abuse by the usual suspects.

Lets just ignore 99% of what he said and the underlying positive and glowing sentiment of it, and focus on that shall we.

Agree. I don’t see anything in this to cause conjecture. What I do love about it though is what he didn’t say. Mick’s had great runs in the Championship, most notably and recently with Cardiff propelling then up the league. He could have easily said some contrived cliche like, “it will come to an end or they’ll have blips” but he didn’t because I think he can see this isn’t just a good run of form, it’s solid management yielding some sublime football and worthy of staying the course.

It's no disrespect to McKenna to say we wouldn't be anywhere near where we are.

And if Mick had this budget we’d still be nowhere near where we are now

Whilst I agree on your general point I make you wrong on salsa (not that I am any good at it but it is more fun by virtue of having the higher bar for competence.) Anyway, do you think Lincoln are going to stay in the Premier League this season ?

I don't think anyone has come close to suggesting they'd prefer a 3-0 loss to Hull under Mick to the 3-0 win we had on Tuesday so that's a rather odd argument to make. It is, however, entirely possible to both be very happy about the current state of the club and the team whilst also respecting that Mick did a good job here under difficult circumstances. It doesn't require much elasticity of thought to be able to hold both of those views.

Mick should have gone one season earlier after a successful period in which he saved us from relegation and had us in the play offs one season, and challenging for the play offs in others, despite having no money.

He’d be held in far more high regard. The writing was in the wall. The purse strings were getting tighter and we reverted to a more industrial style of football in order to compete.

His final season was pure poison. His attitude towards the fans was awful. Some fans attitude to amuck was disgusting. It made for a toxic atmosphere.

Totally agree but to be fair Mick should have gone after the 14/15 season when we failed to make the play-off final. The relationship between the fans and him went steadily downhill after that. Although I don't know who would have stepped in. We'd probably get relegated quicker though. Dino Mick old school hoofball was ugly to watch but used to keep us afloat in the Championship; while Lambert and Cook were utterly clueless both in the Champ and L1.

Funny how people go bang about Mick compared to Lambert, who did a far worse job. Mick didn't do himself any favours trading barbs with fans though, but for all the beers and PR Lambert did he was IMO the worst of the lot sans Hurst. I sometimes really wonder if he really was Agent Lambert sent by the sc*m to take us down.

Nobody was calling for Mick to go after 2014/15 and we finished 7th the following season, so I can't agree that the was the time for him to go. He massively overachieved in both of those seasons relative to our budget. The season after, 100% he should have gone at the end of the season as the relationship had gone sour and the football was poor, although I suspect we'd have ended up going down even more quickly had that been the case.

If he says anything he says “int”, which in Yorkshire means ‘into’. For some reason ( 😉) I can’t see what Frimmers is saying, but listening to MM he’s praising KM up, and saying nothing about a budget in the Championship. It’s such a short section and I’d love to have heard him say more but Sam came in with the comments about the hedge fund stuff which rather sidetracked things.
