What exactly is there to shoot down? Just a load of numptys pretending to know about a players personal life and health status….

You have no idea if they're pretending, it's such a dense argument. It's a small town, people know things at times that you don't.

Do you not think Phil would have shot this down if there was no truth in it? He's had about 500 chances to do that, but has kept silent.

Let's just hope he's had a good rehab.

Was Phil all but saying 'that's libellous, stop it' not enough for you?

So he was just in fact injured (as the real ITK's said) and the "I won't release this publicly" crew were actually making it up all along?

Who knows what's going on behind the scenes, but KM has said a couple of times in January that he was expecting him back in the team once he got back up to speed. So this shouldn't be a surprise for anyone.

I suppose we could have been trying to return him, but he's played since the conspiracies started, so they doesn't make a lot of sense to me. We also saw recently that he was off the pace, so I think it's clear there has been a genuine health/fitness problem (irrespective of whatever else may o may not have been going on).

It was very bizarre watching people desperate to jump on the bandwagon and post recycled gossip as def info. A really weird episode all round.

It’s a town of 200,000 people, it’s not exactly Albert Square ffs!

" Who knows whats going on behind the scenes" and in any case, it's none of our business.

The whole issue with the player is clearly a private matter, and should remain so.

If the guy needs space, give it to him, support him, but stop trying to second guess what the 'Issues' might or might not have been.

Come the end of the season, we might just find that MU agree to release him for a reasonable fee.

If he's allowed some privacy, regains his form, and under McKenna's guidance improves, it might just be a huge gain for ITFC

So yes I agree with you Swansea, leave the guy alone and stop all the silly conspiracy gossip.

Not looking for it - if he plays how he did when he first arrived it’s great news that we’re sticking with him

If he plays like he has since it all started to unravel then it’s a missed opportunity not to replace

Personally will give him my full backing, but it doesn’t mean can’t discuss the reality of the situation

Firstly you say: "Assume we couldn’t get a replacement in and have been left with no choice but to stick if we want proper cover."

Just a whole load of nonsense here. Why assume it? Gamechanger, Ashton and McKenna have been nothing but professional since they've come here. Full back cover is much easier to get than strikers, or we could stick with the cover we already have. And what evidence is there he's not "proper" cover?

"A really bizarre turn of events this, and anyone with half a brain cell can see this wasn’t the plan."

Again, where's the evidence? If Williams was some sort of disruptive influence/bad egg/has a poor attitude we wouldn't be taking him back. Full stop. We aren't that desperate. It would do more harm than good to get a player just for cover who has a poor attitude. In fact the club has made a big deal about ability not being the only measure of a player, being the right type of person is important too.

The "really bizarre turn of events" is so called supporters undermining what the club is trying to do just so they can get noticed on social media. Absolutely braindead.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

The bottom line is that he's liked in the dressing room, but crossed the line from a moral standpoint. Ipswich may not be 'Albert Square' but its football scene is a darn sight more close-knit than somewhere like Manchester. If there was no genuine break clause in the season-long loan, I expect we've had no choice but to try and make the best of it and hope he can genuinely contribute.

The sheer fact Stuart Watson said 'if he can get his head right' - I mean, surely you can read between the lines, right? It doesn't need to be spelt out what's happened, why he returned to Manchester for a period etc.

Line needs to be drawn under it in the hope that he's ready to give his all to the cause between now and May.

No, the bottom line is that we are 2nd in the Championship with the fanbase stronger than ever. Instead of celebrating this, you are more interested in constantly gossiping about players with a "I know something you don't know" attitude.

Some people were saying he was definitely being recalled on January 1st due to "troubles". Well window shut and he's still here and ready to contribute again.

If you and any others can please leave this to one side from now on that would be terrific.

Poll: An interesting day for our politicians, but which one is worse?

Incredible that you say a line needs to be drawn while still perpetuating this nonsense. What moral line has been crossed? Getting his head right can mean all sorts of things. Maybe he has a mental health issue, I don't know.

Of course there will be a break clause due to misdemeanours. Most people, if they caused a misdemeanour at work, would be sacked. And it will be in their contract. Businesses have to cover themselves, however rare it may be, so it would be naive in the extreme to say Williams can do whatever he wants and we have no clause that we can send him back. That would be a hell of an oversight by the club and someone on the legal team would likely lose their job over it.

If he plays then I suggest whatever it is isn't that bad. And we wouldn't be taking up a squad number with someone who isn't going to play.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Surely there is professional behaviour clause of similar.

If it was that bad I find it hard to belive that Man U wouldn't agree to take him back on that basis.

It's kind of weird how this has divided the fan base into two camps, those suggesting they know stuff that has happened and those suggesting it's all nonsense, with lots of jibes flying between them. I think it's quite likely something has gone on over and above some issues with illness and injury because he's missed a big chunk of games with no concrete word on any injury and that in itself is unusual. That said, all the nudge, nudge, wink, wink stuff is also not particularly helpful. Whatever has gone on has not been made public so let's respect that decision from those involved and give the lad his privacy. You are absolutely bang on with your main point, which is that a fully fit and on form Williams will be a huge asset in the run in. Think it really is time to draw a line under whatever has gone on and focus on him contributing to us getting back to the Premier League.
