You’re thinking of Russell Martin and Southampton, mate.
McKenna has consistently tweaked and tinkered throughout the season, changing shape or players roles or in some cases entire ethos- we’re not the team who play one way and that’s it.
Sad reality is that we’re just not at the level yet, yet being the key term- we’ve arrived well ahead of schedule and mostly we’ve competed, just shown our lack of premier league experience and nous. Ipswich Town and Kieran McKenna will be back bigger and stronger.

He's not garbage. It's just he's not defensive and he has limitations. Plus when he does play we try to use him like we have the last two seasons which leaves us exposed at this level. |  |

He's not garbage. He just can't defend, we've not needed him to in the last 2 seasons. Now we are on the back foot every week, his compulsion to go forward is not as useful and his defensive shortcomings are 10 times more obvious. | |

Frimmers who would you suggest he played that would have given a different outcome? The simple fact is that we have a squad that has come up short at this level which isn’t really a surprise. It was always going to be the toughest of tasks to stay up, even more so given the fact we jumped 2 divisions in 2 seasons giving us little chance to squad build and despite what many say that is factor.
We have a squad that is mainly young but has good championship experience and whilst some will go parachute money will mean we can replace those that do but the nucleus of the squad will remain and we should be in the mix to come straight back up.
I’m as hacked off as anyone that it’s gone this way but I’m also realistic enough to know that it was always likely we’d take a step back, that’s just part of the course we’re on | | | |

I'd had balls played over the top into channels. Getting defenders running towards their own goal.. putting pulls in behind so johnson could run onto them.
What I find astonishing is we've played NF 3 times in the space of a few weeks and KM didn't seem to learn than they love sides who try to play through the midfield and keep the ball short.. they press up. Intercept the ball and go on the counter.
We've seen hutch. Delap. Julio and philogene time and time again in past games lose the ball alot.. yet we sent them out there doing the same thing and then wonder why we concede to counters. | |
