Perhaps he has no credit in the bank with you, but most sensible fans still recognise what an excellent job he's done here despite this season proving a bridge too far.

The credit is still there for many Inc ashton you'd imagine.

Imo that credit does go to zero once relegation is confirmed. That doesn't mean KM out. Just means we go into next season kinda like burleys season after relegation. And I think that's fair. That's not forgetting what's happened before.. but when you go down and after what we've spent we won't want to be staying down to long.

I’m presuming you’re either trolling or incredibly overly emotional. You might be able to make a case that his credit would be back to zero if we were 11th in League One where he found us, not 18th in the premier league. But even then he’d have given us the best moments of the last 20 years along the way. In summary,, stop talking bullocks.

To say his credit is back to zero is way over the top. Injuries haven't helped us and we haven't had the rub of the green in several matches. Unfortunately, too many players just haven't been able to do it as this level.

Agree. We have no right to be here in perpetuity. McKenna did a lot of the heavy lifting to get us here and we've fallen short.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

I honestly don't think he'll be with us next season anyway. He will either move on or quit. I think he will feel he's taken the club as far as he can and time for a new challenge. Just my thoughts. I might be wrong! I just can't see him still being with us next season somehow.

Well that's one opinion. Another is that we've all been in a big learning curve. We have changed a lot of players from league 1 to Prem. Spending what we've been allowed to spend. We've given it a big shot. We go again. Hopefully with McKenna in charge. Anything else is just short sighted.

What KM did in the Championship in his first season was truly incredible, competing against Clubs with parachute payments would have been one thing, but to finish second was on a whole new level..

Very short sighted view of the club and manager. We are further forward as a club than we have been for 20+ years, down to the owners, back room and playing staff.

This season has been disappointing but not unexpected, the chasm between the established PL teams and those coming up is huge and only getting bigger.

For me McKenna has handled himself well, made some errors but is only in his 3rd full season of mgmt.

Anyone that judges McKenna on this season alone sums up everything that’s wrong with modern football and modern football fans. The club is still building something special and I am looking forward to how that develops.

KM seems like the sort of bloke who will learn from this and he if stays with us and comes back to the prem, he will be a force to be reckoned.

Not really sure where he would go anyway, what jobs are likely available in the summer.

Southampton, Leicester, some random European club, Celtic, Rangers, Spurs......

Please share why its rubbish

George got us 5th in the prem. Then relegated. We then didn't follow that up well and he was let go.. his credit was reset the minute we got relegated. Why should that be different to KM?

We won't be a small fish in the championship. So that excuse won't cut it. We will be 1 of only 3 parachute clubs in the league ( maybe 4 depending on luton)

I don't think it's gonna be easy due to the amount of players we will still need to bring in. But because of the finances available we should really be aiming for automatics. Just like any relegated prem side should.

KM has had a free hit this season. Are you saying he gets a free hit next season?

Stop looking backwards at past glories you will never improve.

The future is now. Not yesterday or last season.

Do you see the Saints and Budgies still harping on their back-to-back promotions? They achieved that feat way before us!

I think his point is reasonable. If McK does stay with us after relegation no doubt there will be expectation on him to be challenging for promotion. Exactly as there was with Burley and he arguably had more credit in the bank than McKenna having achieved a 5th place finish. Football is ruthless.

Ok, so the future is now.

We have no manager. The applicants are the usual crowd and McKenna.

Who do you give the job to? Someone who won promotion in the early 2000s and has been out of a job for five years? Someone from the Championship who has done well but hasn't matched McKenna's performance?

McKenna has taken us from league one to, at worst, a top end Championship club with serious financial firepower.

Truly impaired.

Only if you lack any common sense or football intelligence does it go back to zero. That would be so stupid and reactive it would beggars belief.

Same for Kompany. You can still use your brain and understand he's a good coach. Bayern did and they are going to win the league and gone deep in the champions league.

Context context context.

It was only last season, the step up this season was huge and everyone would have snapped your hand off if you'd had offered fourth bottom at the start of the season, it's not as if we're on 8 points cut adrift, bit of realism is needed...

I don't understand your question Jitters. You say we have no manager? So that's assuming KM got the chop? Why would be in the running for the new manager then if he'd just got fired?

Or am I being thick?
