Dry your eyes. Thanks to leaving the EU we are only getting hit with 10% tariffs while the EU will pay 20%. Stick that in your blue Remain y fronts with stars on the front.
Manufacturers will be falling over themselves to come to Britain to enjoy lower tariffs. Thanks Boris!

Brexit has reduced the economy by around £140bn per year compared to an additional 10% of tariffs which would have cost us an extra £6.8b per year, that means even with the 20% tariff applied we would be around £133bn better off than we find ourselves today.
As for your point on manufacturing, I don’t think you understand that brexit means we do not have access to cheap labour anymore and that the lack of trade agreements restrict the availability of raw materials to support manufacturing.
We are not an attractive proposition as a manufacturing hub compared to parts of Middle East now with cheap labour and energy costs.

Until Trump throws his next tantrum and changes the rules again.
Trump has the attention span of a gerbil. He seems to have forgotten his promises on an Israeli ceasefire, he's forgetting who he's supporting in Ukraine and I think the tariffs will soon be a thing of the past when another thought enters his head and replaces any previous ones. Greenlanders can probably sleep soundly too.

This year, politics has gone seriously downhill. This year, the football hasn’t been great. And now your trolling is half-arsed at best.
Everyone needs to do better and up their game.
Hasn’t it always been half-arsed at best? Mind you, who’s the bigger idiot? The idiot who thinks that makes him look clever or us idiots who reply to the thread? Idiots everywhere…

Brexit has lost us our biggest trading partner, the EU. It was sold to the gullible as gaining us special perks/benefits/closer ties with the US.
So if you count only being given a 10% tariff as a special perk, then I guess its suceeded in fooling the gullible.
It’s the same as being punched in the mouth for no reason and told be happy, at least you weren’t hit in the eye too. There is nothing nice or good about it. It will cost money and peoples jobs, all because some bits of scum want to steal off everyone bar best mates Russia, N Korea and Cuba.
The EU, don’t get me started on the insanity of Brexit which has cost this country, you and me, billions and will continue to do so in ever increasing amounts until somebody grasps this and does the obvious thing and comes to sensible arrangements with a view to rejoining it further down the line. But since when did a politician do the right thing?
The world order is changing and fast.

1- Trump hasn't given the UK any preference in anything. He used his formula and so we have to pay 10%, no exception. All the fawning and pleading yielded precisely nothing thus far.
2- Trump is still imposing 25% on cars, our biggest export to America, so our effective rate is higher than 10%
3- if we were in the EU, we'd be part of an effective trade block which could co-ordinate a response. Now our options are either to suck up to the bully or hide and hope he forgets about us.
