I’d also quite like us to go after Ward Prowse. Think both are realistic and we have definitely been interested in them both in recent windows.

Both Richard Kone and Mihailo Ivanovic make a lot of sense. We know what KMC wants from the 9 and its physicality with that ability to run in behind. Both of those two have that and are young enough to grow into the role.
I wonder if Kieffer Moore/ Lewis Travis become options again as depth players at each position.
I can see this as the summer we go hunting for some more value overseas particularly in the midfield. We know we need more athletic 6's if we are going to play in the PL again.
If we stay close to home, I can see Tyler Morton & Flynn Downes both being options to be the long term replacement for that Morsy style in the middle. | | | |

Downes is out of favour because of the manager - who won’t be there next season, so that’s highly likely to change.
Realistic names only, perhaps not.. but Cajuste would tear the league up. I’d suggest a timely fake knee injury now to put anyone else off.

I keep seeing people mention Downes as almost a cert but I can't see it personally. Feels like a really hard and expensive deal to do and lots changes in the space of 6 months in football. He is back in the starting 11 now and if Rohl goes in there, I would think he is one he will want to build on alongside Shea Charles.
From our point of view, I also think there is far better value out there. He's a player who's ceiling looks to be a top end Championship player for me. | | | |

Be tough to win that race, he'll have a few interested here and I imagine abroad although I sense Premier League may be a bit too soon for him. Fair point, and Millwall have done well from abroad recruitment-wise in the last couple of years with him and Zian Flemming really standing out. One thing I'd say re Ivanovic is that he probably has needed this season before being ready to shine in a top-two chasing side – as he'd have to do for us. [Post edited 22 Apr 14:15]

He’s a Rolls Royce of a player.., he’ll have so many options, for really good teams in top leagues, here and abroad.
We really can’t afford him either. I’m guessing Delap deal is done, and it is £30 million, or he’d be playing to increase his value etc
We’ll be pushing hard to get that done and other deals too, before our accounting period closes end of June.
If we can mitigate losses for this year .., we spent £150 million! Then that night help us sign one or two.
I’m not sure we had a contingency for relegation, in spite of the rhetoric.., I’m not sure you give the manager a champion league contract and spend that amount (Luton spent £25 million in our position), and think relegation looks a high probability.
Look at our double pivot midfield, KM loves that formation, it’s SO important to him whatever the league.
Next season it’s Massimo who is out of contract, 35 and leaving, Phillips and Cajuste on loan and leaving, and Sam .., who will be 34.
We literally have a 34 year old, a club legend, but clearly a bit less mobile than last time at this level. ONE player in the entire club, aged 34, for two key roles.
Flynn I’m guessing will be a top target, he’s got huge energy, he’d be superb, but can’t imagine being promotion competitors, that will be an easy deal to do.
Fingers crossed though.., we are SO short in that area, having spent a lot, and signed a huge number of inside forwards, it’s all very odd planning.

I don't think the Cajuste deal will be doable but for you to say it's poor planning is a little bit pathetic.
They tried to do the Downes deal in January so it's clearly a position they have been trying to recruit for. Equally, whilst we definitely need competition, I'm not sure there would be many who would be particularly unhappy if Morsy & Taylor started the first few games of next season. They would bring the tactical understanding that KMC requires from that position.
We brought in two CM's last season and will likely do so again so I wouldn't be massively concerned. | | | |

We need some physicality.. we could field a 3 of Philogene, Omari, Clarke behind a striker which on paper for the champ sounds brilliant, but its way too lightweight. The majority of the players who have been good at champ level and excelled in the Prem have been strong, athletic builds, Delap, Watkins, Rodgers, Semenyo etc. We need some muscle. | | | |
