Some proper OTT reaction to yesterdays game for some reason.

Seeing statements like the above, and this and that player needs to go after that performance.

Really not sure it was that bad?

We had 20 attempts but only 2 of those on target, we were all over them at times and early on, had we put one of those early chances in we’d have probably won comfortably, it was simply just a case of we couldn’t take those chances (story of the season) and we let them score their two goals from only 3 shots on target.

Hutchinson was getting a bit of stick on Twitter, felt that was harsh, he did miss two golden opportunity’s but he kept running and trying until the last minute - people saying he should be sold

We've all accepted that there is a huge gap in quality between promoted teams and established Premier League teams, so I think poor defeats against other promoted teams become even more frustrating as that same excuse doesn't apply.

The narrative of 'fine margin' losses, and dressing defeats up as good performances is wearing thin.

I'm just looking forward to next season.

P.S. Please don't make the mistake of using Twitter as a barometer of what normal people think.

OH I just about the only player that can create anything for us, slating him does no good.

On your other points, we were crap. So weak, predictable, easy to get through.

We’ll be good again... one day

Was a weird game, the Hutchinson stick really baffled me to be honest and then the outrage because he didn't stay long enough to applaud the fans at the end?

The game itself, promising first half hr or so,but as we have been so many times this season ,were our own worst enemies and once we conceded yet another poor goal you just knew it was game over.
We huffed and puffed a bit (i thought Morsy was good again and at least trying to drive us on) but it all seemed a bit flat and the game just fizzled out...

But why let hard facts get in the way of a good meltdown.

There are a few on here (and on facebook/x) that seem to absolutely revel in defeats.

Its really quite sad

Omari was our best player by miles.

Multiple times he skinned the Leicester defenders and created a good chance or got a shot off. His finishing was poor but the criticism he was getting in the stands and online was just silly.

We just need this season to end, some of our fans are genuinely losing their minds. Sad to see.

One of those days where we could have played all day and not scored. Didn't think any of the front four played very well in isolation but we still created enough chances to win the game comfortably.

Frustration with Omari (and Enciso and Clarke) for me was that they shot when they should have passed and vice versa. Frustration with McKenna because subs came a bit too late (after conceding another goal against the run of play). Frustration with the defence for letting Vardy score so easily. Overall I don't think we played too badly but it was an incredibly annoying game.

Have a read of the news comments, if you dare. McKenna summed it up perfectly, I thought, but the typical mouth-breathers are out in force.

I'm annoyed about yesterday because we lost to a team who were properly sh1t. All those other games when we've been a bit unlucky and just lost out to higher quality or marginal refereeing decisions are a bit different.

But the reasons we lost were the same ones we've suffered with all season: not taking chances when we create them and giving really bad goals away. The first one yesterday was infuriatingly bad and the second not much better.

Hutchinson has been the most consistently PL capable player in our squad all season, we're a better team when he's played even if he is still a bit raw and his decision making can go wrong. He got kicked so many times yesterday too, not surprised he wasn't running freely at the end.

But then dickheads are going to dickhead.

As usual, just a complete overreaction. We were all over them, should've been clear and then concede from basically the first chance they get. Story of the season and literally nothing to see here. We've fallen short, and it's been frustrating we've done so badly against Leicester and Southampton but realistically they should be better than us, and I think we probably still have the worst squad in the league.

It sucks to lose but some people need to check themselves.

It’s become popular this season among a section of the fan base to be relentlessly negative and self-hating unfortunately.

Rubbish result obviously and frustrating, as others have said, that it followed a similar pattern of not turning pressure into goals then seeing the opposition not have to work very hard to score past us.

McKenna touched on it and it’s an unpopular opinion but the performances against Leicester and Southampton this season have been much better than the ones last season despite picking up fewer points this time.

Self-hating is exactly the thing and has been since almost day one in some cases, it's really weird.

We really had to dig in and get a bit of luck to take a point in each of the Leicester games last year. They looked light years ahead of us in terms of quality for most of the 180 minutes we played against them. We have closed that quality gap now even if the results were disappointing. Same with Saints.

I'm with you Sitters.

However lets be honest here. We have failed miserably at this level.
Ultimately our transfer business has not addressed the key area of central midfield and we have paid the price.

I am a huge Kieran Mckenna fan. I trust him to get it right.
I do worry though that we may initially splutter in August / September before we get it right and the doom merchants will spout toxic noise.

We are all disappointed about how this season has played out but 2 points this season from next years promotion rivals is a poor return and you cant Sugar coat that stat at all.

Simply turning up next season will not cut muster. Its a big summer ahead if we are to bounce back in the way we all want.

Indeed. I worry that football really isn't the game for some of our fans.

Tactics didn't lose the match yesterday. Players did (specifically at either end)

You’re entitled to your opinion, but to say we were crap is disingenuous.

I can agree we were poor with our finishing and defence at times. But these were limited moments in the game - but as has often been the case, they became the defining moments.

Ultimately it was a poor loss, and we only have ourselves to blame, but to suggest we were crap all game is way off the mark (all imho ofc)

Sorry, know this has nothing to do with me, but just to say that I don't think its just modern supporters who are dicks. I know a 50-year old Arsenal season-ticket holder - been going for decades, but he's a proper prick to Arsenal: you almost feel he loves it when they lose / hates Arteta / hates any player who had a bad game / expects to win the Prem every year.

I think football makes him unhappy, but he's yet to realise this, so on it goes....

Has anyone ever looked at their own postings for last day or so? Oh my... so sorry. Was Ullaa

I would imagine it’s up there with the most frustrated KM has been all season though, so can understand to some extent a bit of the noise on here and elsewhere.

Story of our season like you say - easy to score against and pretty hopeless in the final third. Decision making from Clarke and Enciso was particularly bad.

I reckon that he had to go and sit down to rest his bruised legs given the free hand to kick him that the ref gave their full back

I was one yesterday who labelled it our worst performance of the season - in hindsight, I was probably frustrated and OTT, but I do stand by it being a poor performance but overall, just in the key moments. We had 20 shots and got 2 on target, that is poor. The way we defended the breakaway after Clarke lost the ball, that was poor. Leicester were awful and we really should have beaten them yesterday, however KM can't account for individuals spurring chances like we did.

I do think frustration levels were very high after FT yesterday, they should have calmed today thankfully, but it doesn;t hide that our results against Saints & Leicester have been frustratingly poor this season, albeit the performances have been better than last season.

The officiating was poor throughout and I can't believe how many fouls the leicester players got away with. Seems persistent fouling isn't cause for a yellow card these days?

Also, the lineswoman was one of those who seemed to only put her flag up once the referee had made a decision as well as getting one completely wrong which the referee overruled ( in our favour funnily enough)
