Footballers’ heights are always hit and miss. Either way, he was in the top 28% of midfielders in the big 5 leagues for aerial duels last season so I don’t think physicality will be an issue:
Just watched the highlight reel in Phil's latest story, he'll do!
BTW, how do we pronounce his surname? Is it Matusiwa or Matusiwa? Personally, I reckon it's Matusiwa but then I've been known to be wrong from time to time!
Looking at his highlights reel, he seems to have an eye for an early pass to get the attack moving. This fits in with KM's style but was frustratingly missing at times last season.
Ridiculously I have seen him play a fair few times, he was in the team when Will Still started trending so started following them a little closer in 22/23 season - ironically when I first saw/noticed Jens Cajuste who was also there.
Was part of a really good Stade De Reims team, that went 16/17 games unbeaten that year, including J.Ito, Balogun, Cajuste, Agbadou (Now at Wolves), and was the ever present partner with Marshall Munetsi who went to Wolves in January.
You would liken his style to that of N'Golo Kante (obviously not comparing the levels), but he's diminutive, but a good ball winner, ball player and covers ground so so well.
Unbelievable to be honest if he comes here.

Thanks - excellent intel.
Any idea why he's been deemed surplus to requirements as per Le Parisien article?
Not doubting he's a very good player but seems strange somebody good enough for a promotion chasing championship team wouldn't command a starting place in a Ligue 1 team (ex PSG, Marseille etc obvs).
Lots of people worried about his height - he's taller than Morsy if that helps anyone relax a bit... and as other's have noted, his aerial duel stats are well above average anyway

Was wondering this too - think he’s contracted until 2028 and they’re taking a hit on what they paid. Assume they need funds in.
Interestingly, FootballEconomist, a well-respected X poster re. player recruitment/football data recently recommended Matusiwa as a defensive-minded partner for Bruno Fernandes at Man United...

If you haven't confirmed yet and book it at Specsavers, you can get your eyes done after your ears and free up a bit of extra time for all the articles you'll be writing about signings over the next week

What stood out here is ''he can take the ball from defenders and quickly pick out forwards''.
That is EXACTLY what McKenna and Ipswich need, with the likes of Clarke, Hutchinson, Philogene et al ahead of him.
