Not the way the club have backed him during this transfer window. He still has time, but it worries me how ineffective and slow we look. We just haven’t looked convincing in any of our league games this season, we don’t look resolute in defence and create very little in open play. For the players we have, we should be performing better than scraping last minute draws. For the first time, KM is under the spotlight at PR and this is where he needs to earn his money and show his worth at the moment we look far from convincing.

Interesting and constructive feedback. Makes sense to ditch a manager as the transfer window closes and we’ve signed the players needed.

He's got to change a system he's stuck with for most of his time here. It doesn't benefit the players he's bought. This change should have taken place well before now. At least we need to be a whole lot more flexible and less predictable than we currently are, and find a way of allowing these players to be the best they can be.

He's not just 'having doubts' though is he? He's saying McKenna should be sacked, which is a completely different thing.

I don't believe all this more time on the training ground nonsense I do believe in players coming in playing in their correct positions. Think he has to the end of October to get things right.

Clueless.

Absolutely clueless.

How do you think these players 'acquire' their supposedly 'correct' positions in the first place if it isn't on the training ground, mate?

Perhaps it's randomly allocated by the computer, or by trading up and down skill points in the category you favour after starting or re-starting the game.

Clueless.

It's a terrible start, and worrying, but he has earned more time.

I think he's still dealing with terrible recruitment by Ashton last year.

So MCKenna had no say in the players brought in?

We have been here before. In both our promotion seasons we had longer spells than this without a win.

You can't guarantee anything, but the quality of the new players still to play suggests that things will improve.

What I'm saying numbskull is szmodics as a example or Clarke who played on the left at Sunderland quite successfully scoring 20 plus games don't need McKenna trying to invent a new position for them. Overthinks things get players coming in to do what they are good and successful at don't change what's not broken.

Insane post.

If you leave your alternate reality just for a second you might find that:

We're 4 games into a 46 game marathon
We've drawn 3 and lost 1 with pretty much a new look team, a lot of late transfer movement and significant incomings and outgoings, nevermind the usual disruption and difficulty that comes from being relegated from the PL and returning to the championship.
We've seen enough moments to suggest that this team will play excellent football.
The club has gone through huge change and flux over the past few years. The idea that we'd just immediately be firing on all cylinders after a tough PL season is mad.
Burnley were 4 points better off than us at this stage last year. 4. It's not worth throwing toys out of the pram for.

Patience!

It’s still too early to call for his head, but it isn’t nonsense. We’ve been on a downward trajectory for a while, and he doesn’t seem to be getting the best from the players.

I'm sorry but I respectfully disagree. It is absolute nonsense. The referee does his job yesterday and we win the game. Not a lot mckenna can do about him getting a penalty decision so abysmally wrong and red card decision wrong.

Putting that aside whilst we are nowhere near what we are going to become and performances we need you can see it's not going to take too much. We are already dominating the games (first game aside).

Finally we've got our players in late. The ones Mckenna wants. That's not his fault. Why would anyone judge him before he has the team he needs.

But you don't believe in developing a team - that's a T-E-A-M - where players learn how to play together in a system?

Yeah just a bit sick of your continued negativity mate. Multiple comments on different threads all amounting to the same thing. You’ve whinged your way through the transfer window, although I haven’t seen much on that in the last few days for some reason, and now it’s back to McKenna again. I may have missed it but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a positive comment from you. Your user name is spot on though.

Not gonna happen.

£200 million spent. 4 wins in 42 games, promoted sides this season beating his record in TWO home games.

Cant even create against fourth division reserve sides.

I suspect you’re 100% right in the short term, and quite right, but he’s already failed building the team last summer, that’s finished, he had 12 months with them, and many players massively regressed.

You forget. The legacy leadership group, he didn’t bring ANY of Chaplin, Morsy, Burns, Burgess, Wolf, to the club.

He’s never done this, and this summer like last summer, pure panic.

We have half the squad for three positions, and no CDMs left backs or strikers.

I suspect you’ll be on the wrong side of this long term.

Even if it clicks…., what do we do? Play out WBA defence in the premier league?

Seriously? What’s your plan?

Another 15 signings???

No plan, no vision, no strategy - NONE

That’s not ok McKenna exclusively, it’s mostly Ashton, but McKenna made his bed, when he spent a summer talking to Brighton, to leverage a champions league contract.

If you think this is what an elite champions league manager looks like…, you’re deluded. Beyond belief!

And THAT is what McKenna is laid, and says he is.

He never was. And certainly won’t be at any point in this contract term. Or any other if we’re honest.

Every problem I’m building a team isn’t a coaching issue, he doesn’t get that, it’s been obvious for over a year.

You just attached your ego to him though.

Schoolboy error - it’s not as if he’s attached, Palace and Brighton…, he agreed terms with BOTH.

Time to look in the mirror…, and process whatever the outcome this season, you were wrong, he wasn’t as good as you told yourself.

New owners will have less patience than ones wanting continuity for a sale.

He doesn’t warrant endless patience, as brilliant as 23/24 was…., or George would still be manager.

Yep. Agreed. Let's get rid of a manner who in the main part has done well for us and we've just signed players presumably he wants or we fit into our system.

This is the Man Utd logic and I see they're doing very well.

Surely he has to be given a proper chance with this squad after everything? Some people are just waiting to turn. I really don't get it.

Two weeks on the training pitch will do us good.

Nothing to add about the op. But the training thing is unfortunately not true. We've 48 hours of training with the group as a whole according to KM.

That doesn't mean certain partnerships can't improve in the two weeks. Greaves and the full back. Palmer and most of the defence. etc. Doesn't have to be the entire team to make us better and dare I use the word so many love to rally against...gel.

This is the truth. We were not under resourced to have a really good chance of staying in the Premiership but our manager and all those involved in decision making were not up to the task and showed nothing that suggested they ever will be. We got worse in every aspect as last season progressed and now have an acceptance of not winning embedded in the club again. Is there any example of a professional manager having a 50 game record that ours has and still being in the job. Under any circumstances. We are not unique in having success at a lower level then our structure being found out at a higher level. We are unique in qiving so much emphasis to credit in the bank.
