Most likely not true but does appear to fit a McKenna striker profile - 6’3 and can link play well. However they seem to be targeting tried and tested championship strikers e.g Surridge and Piroe

Good records at Excelsior and Toulouse, less so Bologna, one game for the Netherlands and 25, we could do worse!

He is one we were very interested in before he went to Bologna. So likely we would be again. Feels a bit out of reach as a Championship club but I guess we could be seen as a route to the PL if he doesn't have better offers. Would be an excellent signing, I think he is more likely to be able to step up than anyone else we've been linked with.

Wonder if it might be a loan with an obligation if we go up. Gives him a bit of protection should he wish to play higher as of the summer and the worst happens.

We already have 5 loans so would have to leave one out each week. But Akpom looks well off it to me so maybe he gets left out most weeks should we sign a striker on loan.

We've got Kipre, Neil, Cajuste, Akpom, and Azon. I would imagine if we brought another loanee in we'd see Akpom dropping out of the first team picture as we can only have five loanees in the match day squad.

"Cruncher" (Richard if memory serves) "reported" a rejected bid on 27th Jan, to lend or reduce credence to this story. I'm not a regular X user and don't "follow" people (never a stalker be), but ITFC stories fill my home page and I scan some of the nonsense towards transfer windows' close. Felt the need to provide this context lol.

There has been talk of us signing Kipre before the window closes which would free up a loan space. Personally either that or give the team we loaned Akpom from a wedge to take him back.

Imagine Ajax are bloody happy to sit on the £7m obligation and hope we go up!

Quite a risk though in some ways. Obviously we're going up so no worries, but imagine if we didn't, they're stuck with a player who couldn't cut it in the second tier even. Maybe a quick £1 million and reloan him somewhere more suites works best all round. I can hope!
