i wonder how the new form of green party will do in many of the areas where it prospered in 2024. in suffolk, where it did well, a lot of the vote was the traditional eco wing of the libdems. i can't see them sticking with swp infused version we've now got.

| Should be a re-vote and get it policed properly… on 16:30 - Feb 27 by GlasgowBlue | So what is your view on current Deputy Leader Mothin Ali declining to sign a a pro-LGBT pledge? https://lgbtiqa.greenparty.org I understand he's falling back on the Sam Morsy defence. |
AI responds Based on available information, there is no direct evidence labeling Mothin Ali as anti-LGBTQ. However, he was noted as providing "No Response" to a 2025 LGBTIQA+ Greens candidate pledge regarding trans healthcare, while other candidates explicitly supported it. He has previously emphasized that Muslim and LGBTQ+ communities share the same oppressors, suggesting a focus on shared struggles.

It's always been pretty left wing, and someone who knows about such things said today on the radio that it's strength is in urban areas, and that the two seats it won in rural areas were really outliers. Having said that, the relatively small market town I live in in Kent has been green for some time.

According to Sky, Greens won mainly because young Muslim men switched from Labour to the Greens. Start with that. Then add in some family voting allegations and finally, point to the Greens wanting open borders and the next campaign practically writes itself. [Post edited 27 Feb 17:15]

I'm critical of a racially divisive campaign. Were you supportive when Goldsmith ran a similar campaign against Khan? If not ten you are guilty of excusing dog whistle politics when it gets the result you want. [Post edited 27 Feb 16:44]

So apart from a couple of biased links what real evidence do you have. A picture of Lammy with murdering war criminal Netenyahu is fair game in my eyes. A Labour win would have been ok ish. I prefer to put my energies into opposing racism, fascism and authoritarianism.
| Should be a re-vote and get it policed properly… on 17:09 - Feb 27 with 1212 views | Oldsmoker | My mum spent the last 4 years of her life in a nursing home. The final 2 years she had dementia. Those residents who were up for it, filled in their postal votes. I was told by a resident carer that the manager dealt with the rest. The carer was a bit miffed 'cos the manager was die-hard NHS and voted Labour on behalf of the incapacitated patients. I was OK with that but Labour still didn't win the local election. | |

Taker it up with Starmer who in a letter to Labour MP's stated that Zack Polanski's party embraced the "sectarian" politics of George Galloway to claim victory in Greater Manchester. You conveniently ignored the leaflet showing Starmer with Modi.

So quoting Starmer is now factual evidence. Modi runs an oppressive discriminatory govt. Not someone we should cozy up to. Just not sure hat your angle is really. Selling the Greens as racisy sh1t stirrer needs a lot of mental gymnastics

"Modi runs an oppressive discriminatory govt. Not someone we should cozy up to". Would the greens run this photo as an attack ad if they were campaigning in an area that didn't have a large Pakistani community? Of course they wouldn't. The image was deliberately chose to cause racial division. You know this so there's not much point bouncing this back and forwards. [Post edited 27 Feb 19:03]

A not so subtle "learn how to do your jobs" aimed at Democracy Volunteers from the Electoral Commission too. https://www.electoralcommissio “Public trust in elections is essential. We take allegations of fraud or about how polls are conducted very seriously, and we are grateful that Greater Manchester Police have properly investigated to establish the facts. Voters must be able to trust that our elections are secure and conducted with integrity. “It is equally important that any allegations about the security and integrity of elections are supported by evidence, so voters have accurate information about how polls are conducted. GMP have found no evidence of any intent to influence or refrain any person from voting. We will discuss with Democracy Volunteers the definitions they use and the training they give their observers."

Not unusual - the MO for the loony right is to sling poo and move on before they get called out. As per, that's exactly what's happened here.

It's the Trump playbook too, always has been. Make crap up, get people panicking, sow dissent and confusion, then move on completely ignoring what was said and let everybody catch up to the next commotion. It's tiring, has no political purpose other than distraction and noise, and ultimately destroys trust in all politicians and processes, clearing the ground for a right wing agenda to simply be constructed into the void. Trump is struggling a bit with that on the main stage now, as he finds it's hard to throw a few missiles, blow up a girls' school, cause confusion then move on as funnily enough other people are not moving on. At the level of Farage and Ipswich, it has worked perfectly and he can stir the pot a bit more, poke a few sticks at other clubs (ie Sunderland) just to get some noise in places he may want to create a cloud, and then forget it all and move onto his next headline-grabbing stunt.
