I shouldn't reply to an obvious troll, but I'm fascinated by the line of thinking where "lefties" have decided we need to get rid of Ashton (why?) so have set up a meeting between him and Farage, hacked Reform UK's socials so everyone knows Farage visited the club, forced the club to lie about what happened, and then drip-fed details to The Athletic. That would be quite the scheme. |

Would there have really been as much outrage had it been anyone else though, I think not.
The trouble with someone like Farage I think most of his/Reforms supporters are publicly silent.

Apolitical, basically means not interested or not involved in politics.
Hosting a party leader during a campaign, is being involved in politics.
I think if they had lied in the same way about inviting, hosting, and giving out a few freebies to any leader during a campaign, I reckon about 70% of people would be annoyed, e.g. all the people that don’t support that party.

It's not the leftie int he fanbase though is it? It doesn't really matter if it's left or right. The club should not be associated with or affiliated with a political party. Whatever party they had aligned themselves with would automatically exclude a large portion of the fanbase. Others on the forum have stated that they would feel let down by the club if they had done this with Polanski. It is, however, exacerbated by how divisive and controversial Farage is. It is so obviously a bad PR move.
Then when you add the lies and that incredibly poor club statement it really is enough for Ashton to have to resign over. Then the club can move on and we can all get behind the team for the last 8 games. |  | | |

I.couldnt care less about his politics. ME was a prominent Lib Dem, I doubt the Cobbolds were lefties.
I've no idea if Ashton is even a reform fan boy, that's his business.
